Edit: Just realized I should have posted this in the SEO section... Sorry and please feel free to move it..

First off, make sure that you link back to your main ranking page with your keyword from all different pages of your site.

Wordpress automatically does this in the header, but try to also include a link in the actual post/page back to your main page with your keyword as anchor text.

The second part is make sure to add a title="Keyword Here" attribute to your backlinks so it would look like this:

<a href="http:// www. yoursitename.com" title="Main Keyword Here">Main Keyword Here</a>

Once again it just helps the spiders see exactly what the link is about which helps in deciding on your site's relevance when ranking it...

Mark.

One thing people never do and is very important: NOFOLLOW your terms of use and privacy pages! I just Googeled a pretty nice keyword and there was a site and what was the most highly ranked page? Yes, Terms of use! Not homepage!

Haha that's great. Honestly, if you just link once to your terms of use page from the main page then it shouldn't outrank your main page on any search results.

Completely unnecessary. It serves no purpose and doesn't do you or your site any good. It's outdated 2005 page sculpting SEO. Google put an end to that years ago.
