The video you watched was either more than 3 years old or the person in it suffers from a mental handicap.

You cannot promote clickbank products through AdWords.

You cannot promote an affiliate hop link via AdWords. It's against the terms of service.

What you CAN do is create your own webpage on your own domain which promotes the affiliate product and shares useful information about the niche and product. Then you can promote THAT site via AdWords.

You can't direct link to a clickbank product through adwords, but you can setup your own landing page or squeeze page with a free giveaway and with good content, that links to a clickbank product.

You CAN promote Clickbank products using Adwords. There is no rule that says you cannot specifically promote CB or any other affiliate product from any network. You just have to follow the rules, whether you create your own page or link directly to the offer.

The problem is that many affiliate pages, especially those on Clickbank, violate the misleading and inaccurate claims rule. Since you don't have control over that page, you can't make changes to comply. But if you promote products that follow the rules, won't be a problem.

Again, wrong. Nothing in the TOS about it.

Many will say their ads were suspended or worse, account banned for repeatedly ignoring the rules. But it's not the fact that it was a CB product that was the problem. There are a few types of products Google won't allow (tobacco, firearms) and it could be the reason. But I believe most times the issue is about misleading claims. Make money and weight loss sites are notorious for this.

Promoting clickbank through adword is tricky, you should master it unless it will breaks your wallet.
