Has Seo been more difficult since google's update for anyone else? I see a lot of sites not moving at all with link portfolios that usually produced results. I'm wondering if fresh content is just a heavier factor now or if link building has taken a big hit.

Any thoughts?

Sites that have spam written all over them will eventually get weeded out of the SERP's rankings.

If you build and promote a site "the proper way" and you stick to a plan, you will rise and stay at the top of SE's.

Most webmasters struggle with this approach because they want instant results, end up breaking the rules, and ultimately fail with SEO. Do the opposite (to what most webmasters do) and you will succeed.

Well, in my case I have found my blog visible in the first pages for almost all the new posts I make. I don't know whether it is temporary or not, hope to stay in those positions.

Some people will be frustrated by the latest change, if their sites and ranking have been affected. But it's a good thing.

Who want crappy content appearing in the first.

The update will reward people doing the basics well. Good quality, original content.

This change should be embraced and not feared.

You are right, as per Google new algo update many websites have lost their rank. But I can say one thing websites with original content are still leading. So, if you have quality and original content in your website, you can beat your competitors. No doubt quality back links are the plus one.

You cannot say it difficult for the person who is already not doing spamming by saying "i am doing link building". Now, to make good backlinks you need to take care of few things. Like, the page from which you are going to a link should contain original content and it includes both i.e. comments(if any) and the post or content it self. The page should not look like a link farm.

Same goes for the forums if you are making backlinks on the forum which is full of spam and signatures are longer than the post it self than surely this is not going to benefit you.

Bulk submission of the articles I mean submitting the article in the different directories which accepts the copied article is totally useless now. By this algo link building will also become spam free. HUURRAAYYY!!!!

Unique content can be one of the reason why a certain website drive traffic and crawled easily b Google. So there's no problem having a unique content on your site.

Google is still rolling out the update. They are also tweaking it. So I would suspect the SERPs are not "business as usual". Build links and content and wait.

Well after the change in algorthm their is still very annoying thing happening in the SERP. Every time I search with some keyword which starts from 'how to' the pages of ehow are still on top. If EA is content farm, hubpages is content farm than I think ehow comes first in the list of content farms.

and if you can build them by the thousands. Dont waste you time building them by the 100's... and get them indexed by pinging until the page is spidered, there are service which do this for you and ive just begun using linklicious. People say not to build links in great big loads. Im still testing this but if your site has been up for more than 3 months and youve been building links to it then you should be fine but however you cut the cake, the more links you build the faster you will rank so just do it in a gradualing increase "natural" manner daily and you should be fine with google.
