Hey all,

Has anyone else noticed a huge change with EZA? I'm a platinum member (woohoo...) with expert author status, but lately getting my articles published seems to be harder than brekaing the laws of physics!

For example, I submitted an article on the 27 of Feb, and here it is, nearly three weeks later and it still hasn't really moved much in the review process.

Also, they seem to have forgotten what a self-serving link is, as suddenly I can't seem to put any links back to my website in the body of the article.

But the thing that is really troubling me is that suddenly the articles that get reviewed ALL say the same thing...not enough original content

WTF ????

I've written the articles from scratch, chocked FULL of relevant content and they are all around 500 words or so, but there's not enough original content??? I've seen articles with the same topic that are barely 250 words, and obviously written by someone where english is their 3rd or 4th language, as they hardly even make sense...

Could it be that I'm also publishing them on my blog too and EZA doesn't like that?

Has anyone else here been having the same problems?? I'm getting so bloody frustrated with EZA that I'm thinking of just giving them the flick

Diver D.

I know EZA went through some changes, but it's starting to get bloody ridiculous! If they want to dig their own grave, their going at it the right way, as I knwo of a few people who are starting to boycott EZA and convincing a lot of other people to do the same!

I hope for their sake that EZA realises what it is doing....

Have you been living under a rock that past week?

The latest google update sunk the EZA ship. There are a couple hundred posts about it in the main forum.

As a result, EZA has changed a lot of their policies.

2012 came early for some I guess.

The past week? More like the past 2-3 years! EZA nose dived long ago.

    Thanks for that!

I'll go and have a look...

Does anyone else have any recommendations on where to post articles in order to have a half decent chance of generating traffic and backlinks?

Here is a list of the top 50 article directories by traffic and page rank:

List Of Top 50 Article Directories By Traffic, PageRank

This list will also tell you if the directory is a -"no follow".

Are you also using blog and forum commenting as part of your traffic building plan?

thanks a heap for that! I'm more interested in having articles for traffic generation first, then backlinks (as the site I want to promote would be way too hard to rank just for backlinks).

You answered your question. They don't want duplicated content on their site. I think I received a similar news from hubpages as well recently.

I'd have to agree with you there. I had a plugin for my wordpress where I could actually publish directly to EZA from my blog. Quite handy actually, but they took that down.

As for republishing, I had that problem a while back too. I wanted to change one of the links on an article that had been published a year year previously because it was longer active, yet when I submitted it, they said there was some problems with the keywords...HUH !!?!??! I wrote them back telling them that the article was already published and questioned them on why they published it previously, then suddenly decided not to republish it, even though none of the actual body had changed.

I think the whole thing is run by complete morons!

        regards,

i'm a platinum writer with over 2 years in the system and over 400 published articles.

guess what they did to me?

    Hi Lawrence,

Your account was suspended recently due to the lack of quality across
a large number of your submissions. We have discussed these
problematic areas with you in the past and do not feel that you have
taken the necessary measures to ensure that only quality articles are
    submitted.

For this reason, your account is not eligible for reinstatement.

    Thank you,
    Jenna

So tip of the day. Don't write on a specific NICHE and try and change them all at the same time.

off to other things.. so long EZA you suck.

Some of you people seem to visit forums but don't actually read them. Search for "google farmer update" read it, then wonder why people are scathing.

My question is why do you guys post your articles on EZA?

    Create your own article directory!

One guy has 400 articles on EZA (WTF!), dude that's enough content for entire authority niche site of your own.

    What are you thinking?

Do you get enough traffic from EZA, to justify 400 articles?

Yep - I'm a platinum member also and I've got an article from 28/02 that still hasn't been approved.

Glad I'm not the only one...

Yeah 10 days later my article is now moved into the 3rd block. I never cared to much for EZA though its just a good place for backlinks or was for me plenty of other places to get those backlinks now and places that rank better as well.

Put those 400 original (I'm assuming they are original and not on your site already) articles on your own site and you have an authority niche as mentioned above by Yukon.

If those articles are helpful to your visitors, then you'll have all sorts of people linking to your site and building enough 'natural' backlinks that you will NEVER need to waste your time, money and resources submitting content to all these article directories. You'll be amazed at the results. I stopped doing that years ago and have never looked back.

Why build an empire for the owner of EZA or any other article directory when you can build an empire for yourself with all that content? Break away from the herd!

I'd just been waiting some 3 weeks or so for my articles to be approved, and just like the OP, I've been hit with the new problem article status: "Your article does not include enough original and informative content."

EZA's policies were annoying enough as they were, and I'm not sure I'm willing to put up with an even more stringent set of policies.

Been with EZA since 2007 with 1K plus articles approved. I never had warning emails from them regarding the articles I submitted. But the last articles I submitted (about 600 words) are rejected due to "not enough original content etc." The first time I encountered this.

2 days ago I got this: "Your account has been suspended from future submissions. This means you will not be able to submit any new articles until your account is restored to good-standing."

I emailed them asking what is wrong with my articles? No reply as of this writing.

there has been heaps of talk about this on the EZA blog. they took a big hit in the Google Panda update and their traffic dived by about 50-60%. So even if you do get your articles approved you will not enjoy the same traffic you used to get from them.
all the article directories took the same hit so as a few of the other commenters have said you probably should just put your content on your own site and make your site into the authority for your particular niche.
EZA are trying to restore their 'trust' with Google which is why they are rejecting a lot of submissions as being not original enough. just seems like a good way to piss off their loyal writers. seems to be working. lol

I have multiple accounts with Ezine, and many approved articles in each account. Last week all I did was change the links in few of the articles in various accounts (as my site underwent some permalink changes)... and guess what..
They SUSPENDED the entire account and deleted the existing accounts..!!
