The Best 5 Web Proxy Sites To Hide Your IP Address

Web proxies are clearly not the best option when it comes to hiding your IP address, but when no other options are available they are good enough. This is the case when you are at school or at work and you don't have the rights to install any hide ip tool (like IP Hider, Hide-My-IP, Hide The IP, etc.) or to configure a VPN connection.

No doubt about it that this is the best proxy sites list. I use hide my ass software to hide my ip address. I work very good and does not even affect my internet speed. I really recommend this to everyone.

    CAUTION WITH HIDEMYASS:

I heard from a friend who read an article about a case where some public authorities wanted to catch an internet user because of some illegal action. This guy used hidemyass and the guys there have given this guy's identity (probably IP address) to the authority.

well if you're doing illegal stuff then you should be caught be the police even if you're using a proxy/vpn.

I agree with you but my point was a different one: I wanted to show you that you cannot be anonymous using hidemyass.

Rather than using proxy servers (which Google already knows are being used for SEO purposes) wouldn't it be easier to just spin up a cloud server within Rackspace or Amazon, pay the few cents per hour to do what you need to do, then trash it? You'll get different IP addresses every time, but they trace back to ISP's that Google (nor anyone for that matter) will never black-list.

This is what you call thinking outside the box. A better alternative with no chance of ever getting blacklisted by Google.

If you're super-concerned about security, I'd be slightly weary of HMA. They tend to keep logs and have given out some information in the past.

Clearly this is an extreme case, and those users were doing something VERY wrong. But it's still something to think about.

    Man, these are super useful!

Hiding our IP Addresses is really important to protect our information that is shared by our computers.

This is also to prevent those hackers on targeting our sites.

    Definitely HIDEMYASS.

Have used it many times with great success. The rest seem to be pretty limited in terms of proxy options.

I think its super important. The way G tracks our surfing behavior gives me the hibbly jibblies. You ever notice the adsense ads seeming to track your most recent surfing patterns?

Who's to say they won't use your info against you....

You have to be careful when using services like HMA, Vtunnel etc. Some ISPs will "throttle" your connection if they suspect VPN activities. I know Orange UK does.

That's interesting. I've never experienced that with the handful of ISPs I've used.

Proxies have plenty of SEO related uses. Mainly when it comes to research. (Checking rankings from different parts of the world, running large PR checks, building keywords lists, searching for multiple keywords at once, etc.) I wouldn't be able to use half of the features in Scrapebox without them. And no, I don't use the automated commenting feature.

List looks solid and the sites mentioned work most of the times.

Does anybody know a (paid) service/software which I install on my computer to achieve the same functionality?

    Thanks.

If you're worried about browsing anonymously a VPN is a much better choice. And pretty cheap. (About $5-$10 a month.)

Well, I will always prefer to go with premium Proxies like VPN and such sites and softwares. Still, you can go with Hidemyass free version, its premium version is really good.
