The warrior forum is the best place to start. Spend as much time as you can searching and perusing the different forums to find the best places to start your IM career. Read all the noobie threads, and spend a good amount of time reading before you start asking a bunch of questions. This place is the best source of IM info on the planet.

There are a couple of blogs that can help you out with it. I'd recommend web marketing now, and the ebook that is released there. Very good info.

Start browsing around here, there are many threads and you will be able to see differences in opinion and formulate your own conclusions. Most importantly, make sure you test out and apply what you learn.

So many places to get good information.
I like to vist SEOmoz and read their posts. I go to lots of different places to learn (that's why I started coming here).

Try searching "SEO Experts" and see who comes up. They worked hard to get their name "above the fold." Read their free stuff (lots of ebook give aways or other incentives). After you see who really has something to offer, check out what options they have for learners like you.

Try your local chamber of commerce, because they put on courses for different businesses. But, they charge a bit more, if your not a business, but its well worth it.

Who could be the best teacher rather than Google? Yes you can also get a good knowledge on SEO from this forum too. But if you want to be trained on SEO then I suggest you to Google it for a good tutorial and download some video document too where you can get the full training on SEO practically.

The topic of SEO Training and which program is the best is really up to the person seeking it.

I took a SEO Training course provided by ASU (Appalachian University) about three years ago through one of their registered teaching agents (with a funny name) called sushiseo.com and really enjoyed it - It was perfect for me back then. I was fairly new to SEO and having someone spend a few weeks teaching the essentials and the history or background of Search Optimization was great...

However, now that I've been in the industry for awhile I mostly learn more and keep up with the latest trends by watching and reading a few select forums and authoritative blogs.

I think if someone has a decent knowledge of or experience in SEO then simply subscribing to the forums and blogs will suffice for building and growing your SEO knowledge. But if you're a newbie and want a really fast and accurate introduction to kinds get "caught up to speed" then an SEO Training course would be a wise idea.

This is great place to start, I know I don't have many posts, but I have read many threads here. I would also look at some of the other top forums that go over seo, just keep in mind that when you read something, they are all opinions, so you may see different views on the same topic. That is what makes a forum so useful. Make sure that you ask questions and participate, and you will find that many people here are happy to help.

Take advantage of any ebook that you can find, there are many free ones out there. Read, Read, Read that is the main thing. Set up some google alerts for seo training, and you will receive blog information and news about it that will help you find material as well. Alerts is a great way to stay on top of any subject that you choose since it will come to you as often or as little as you want. SEO is fun and challenging, just stay with it and keep learning and you should do fine.

I have been doing SEO since 1998 and have developed a step-by-step training course in SEO. Feel free to check it out Professional SEO Training Course - Learn SEO like a PRO

Although it's good to read everywhere. However, when you hear all kinds of information from anyone, then you will never know what is true and what really works. Also ppl making statements, you never know whether they are true. In my course I am using SEO strategies that I have used to position hundreds of clients (big and small) so I know they work. Can I give you 100% all the algorithms that are being used in Google? No. But I can say that the course will definitely help your rankings go up. If not, simply ask for a refund and I will be happy to refund your money...Good Luck :-)

Don't know if these specific things have been said, but

    A) You can hang around the WF and just read as many threads as possible on SEO.
    B) For probably the most thorough report out there that will have all you need to know in one place, look into Brad Callen's SEO Mindset.

You can find all the info you need here at WF or other forums.

The first thing you need to learn is to define what you want your sites to do. If you start without knowing what the objective is - in detail - then you will spen huge amounts of time, and possibly money, on a goose chase.

Or the best answer is Google for some SEO tutorials, there are a lot of blogs, forums and etc. out there. So instead of paying, start your training in "researching" that's one of the basic and the most important part of an SEO.

Definitely agree with that. Also put up a couple of sites in different niches and start experimenting, if you aren't doing so already. The faster you fail at certain points, the faster you will succeed.

If you have money to spend, I wouldn't necessarily spend it on 'educating' myself about SEO. Spend money on some nice hand-picked tools and services after learning the basics of SEO to make the process more efficient for you. In the beginning I did everything manually myself, then as I learned more I started outsourcing certain tasks like backlinking, bought a couple of good tools such as ScrapeBox, and joined some good services who charge a monthly fee but are worth it if one knows what they're doing.

So, first focus on absorbing all the knowledge you can, while putting it into action at the same time. Then, when you notice results, carefully spend money on tools and services which would really help you scale those results and get some real good ROI.

EDIT: Of course, I understand not everyone is tied for money, so if you can financially afford to do so, you can get whatever tools and services you like right from the get-go.

I found a good FAQ about seo on this site. Not extensive training back its ok. They also have a tool to analyse the website.

    www(dot)siteolutions(dot)come/FAQ(dot)aspx

But be cautious about their special offer. Its abit of a rip off, they use there own free tool on your site and say they did a intimate analysis of your site and then they do keyword research which is from the google keyword tool and they charge you for it!!! The only good thing is that they are on the phone whenever you need them which for $199 per year is not too bad.

    Cheers,

We are actually an SEO company with 14 years experience in SEO. We have spent over one year to set up a training course in SEO called The Professional's Training Course in SEO. It's based on a step-by-step training process that teaches you from the beginning and how to gain top rankings in Google based from our experience. So it's more of a practical SEO course where you will learn the strategies that we see works well for our clients (and not just the theories). We don't offer junk but if you are not happy it comes with a 100% money back guarantee for 30 days.
