Adwords - Aff Link OK As Destination?

I am brand spanking new to using Adwords and I have a question. Can I use an affiliate link as the destination URL in my campaign?
For example, if I was an Amazon affiliate and I ran an ad for Elmo Live, could I use Amazon's Elmo Live product page (with my aff link embedded, of course) as my landing page?
I have seen posts here that state yes you can do this and I have seen posts say that you cannot. :confused:
