hello,

micro-niche target keywords:
k1,k2,k3,....kN

there is main site
k1.com

if to make sites like k2.com, k3.com, ... ( exact keyword matching )
with the same design and practically the same content like main site( just some small changes: some titles, some meta html tags values, etc )

1. will it hurt main site in any way? ( google penalty, duplicate content issue, etc )

2. does such approach give any benefit?

p.s. the idea is
a) it is easier to get top 5 for k2 with k2.com, for k3 with k3.com, ....
b) to have a few own sites in top 5 for the same keyword( to get out competitor from top 5 completely)

I wouldn't do it, especially if you're talking about your money sites. It could be seen as duplicate content, yes.

      what about
      benjaminbach.posterous.com/does-google-penalize-you-for-duplicate-conten ?

Google's own words "There is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty". This comes directly from Google's Webmaster Central Blog. "

What if you make original content(rewritten) for every one of them?
I mean if you create 2-3 websites for the same keyword to have all the top positions, is it worth?

      main site has menu like
      - Main page
      - Product features
      - Faq
      - Articles
      - Blog

it can be easier to rewrite main/features/faq

but what about blog + articles?

is it ok during publishing new unique content blog post on main site automatically to publish the same blog post on other sites?

p.s. some of people saying if site has > 30% unique content, it is ok.
      is it truth?

Instead of trying to dominate half of page 1 for one keyword, wouldn't it be more cost effective to build sites for other keywords?

      yes, it is more profitable

      but question is in another

I Already have main site, what can I reuse of it during creating new one?

Can I reuse some content? ( privacy page, etc - they are the same all time )
