Hi fellow warriors

I'm based in the UK and want just US results from Google. I've tried adding (/ncr) and (/webhp) after google dot com but still have UK results included. I've read practicaly every post regarding this on Google help forum but no answer there either!

How do all you non US IM'ers do it? Would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks - Tonia

Did you try going to google, adding your search in the search box then add + USA .
Exp: If I want to look for libraries in USA , I write in the google search box
" libraries + USA" , this always work for me and you can search in this way for results in any country ..

I recently solved this problem by installing phproxy on my servers hosted in the US. I can now use the proxy server to look asa if I'm surfing from within the US. It works very well.

I use the firefox plugin that Richard mentioned - it's very good, it's an icon on your toolbar, you just click on the icon, choose the country you want and you got it!

it's a simple matter of having your browsing seem like you are in US, just search how to change IP in google of search for fresh working USA ips and you can get list working US IP you can be inputing in the manual network settings of your firefox or best, use Hidemyass dot com

Typing &gl=us is a good way, but is there any ways that I could set this as a default, so I don't need to type everytime?

        Thanks.

None of these solutions are correct. Adding US to the end, or USA to the search or even google global work. You have to have an actual US IP address to see USA results. So until google global uses a proxy to switch the search engine, you're not getting the actual US results.

I use the Firefox plugin 'Google Gobal' to check Google search results in several countries. You don't have to change your IP address or use any proxies.

I don't know how well it still works... but just add &gl=us to the google search results url.

That changes the geographically location to US.

The firefox plugins that dbadwal recommended are good as well.
