I am using social media and social bookmarking tools to promote my niched websites and it works quite well.

I wanted to get your opinion on the social media websites that really make your SEO work.

From the analytics I can see that Digg, Stumbleupon, Twitter an Reddit drive some traffic. Others are not on that list...

    Yes there are less Social bookmarking sites which drive some traffic but not many.But the benefit in submitting in the social bookmarking is that you get good result in the google search results and your keywords get good rankings and you get traffic from google then.
    So it is useful to submit bookmark in the all social bookmarking sites, you will get traffic indirectly.So social bookmarking pays good result.

    Probably the main is Facebook and its on top for bringing traffic.But nevertheless you should always bookmark all your links as they help you get a backlink which affects you in the long run.

      I think it's depend on how you are using it. Yes, you can receive the tons of traffic from the sites like Digg, Stumbleupon only if you are maintaining your profile well there.

      Also, nowadays search goes social. You can find the tweets in real-time updates, you can find some articles that was shared by many people in Social Media sites in Google SERP too.
