There seems to be a consensus here that google likes good original content.
But how does it know if its good?
#content #good #google

That is the funny (or sad) part - Google has no way of knowing if content is good or bad. Their bots can't read the content and decide if it is good or bad.

This is why Google relies on certain factors that helps them determine whether the content on a specific page is good.

Some of the main factors they rely on are:
    • Bounce Rate – Represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site. This basically shows Google how fast visitors are leaving a page they landed on. If too many are staying on the page for only 10 seconds it probably means something about the content and its quality.
    • Links – Pretty obvious factor. If people are linking to your content than it probably is good in the eyes of Google.
    • Engagement – on the page itself. Tweets, Likes and Comment all mean that there is interest around that specific page.
There are many more factors but the bottom line is that Google is still a long way from making their bots able to determine whether content is good or bad by simply "reading" it.

Until that day will come (and I doubt it will) we will remain with the big problem all these factors have which is that all of them can be very easily manipulated with scripts and various black hat tools. Another problem is that these factors are not absolute and you can’t really rely on them without as what might look “bad” on one site, can actually be “good” for a different site. This is why every-time Google implements an update to their search algorithm many sites are badly effected without any good reason.

The only way to know if your content is good are "Visitors".. the more visitors it means lot of people are following your content.

    Hay Mate,
I believe Google keep record of traffic data, therefore they have traffic indicator to help them out for indexing of any site.

D Baker is right. Google bots are not able to decide that websites content is good or bad even they can easily able to found duplicate content. Thanks D Baker for your useful suggestion.

The relevance of the content to its keyword. That's the most simple way of explaining it...

I think Google may consider the following factors on deciding up the good content,

    * Links from authority site to that content.
    * Links from relevant sites to that content.

But they know that it's not enough to judge the good contents, that's why they have decided to go with social with features like "Block" results in SERP's.
