Hey guys,

I am a developer for a guy that has contracted me to build a website that will either use wordpress, or wordpress ms. MS would be more difficult (expensive) to build, but the idea is that those that join his site will get their blog posts on the front page of google in hyper local search terms, because of hyper SEO optimization and external marketing.

With wordpress, they wouldn't get their own blog. So we'd be trying to get to the front page of google not with a website, but with a page.

VS

with MS, they would each get their own blog and that would be what was marketed towards the front page of google

the keywords are going to highly vary depending on the site.

What route do you think we should go?

Setting up a standard WP installation where user must register to post would be your best (and easiest) bet. Post pages can rank extremely high on the SERP.

If you use the MS as described, sounds like you will need some custom coding PHP to network everything together.

I'd go for MS. But keep in mind: Google treats sub-domains as separate domains meaning the posts that get published in the following format: http://user.dub.com/post won't get the advantage of your domain. But http://dub.com/user/post would.

Google treats sub-domains as separate domains. Just sayin'.

Right which would lead to higher development costs. I can do all that custom code, it's just a matter of cost. Thanks for your insight, can anyone 2nd this?

I don't mean MS, I mean the additional things he wants lol. It would be easier custom coding solutions for WP then WPMS.

I've got one for MS and one for WP haha. Anyone up for a debate? Pros and Cons? Which would be easier to rank higher, or does it matter?

thanks in advance guys, you're awesome
