Majestic SEO vs Yahoo Sitexplorer?

Hi guys.
I have been using Market Samurai and also SEO for firefox to check the backlinks of my competition. However, I am finding it difficult to guess the competition as Majestic SEO and Yahoo sitexplorer data has a big difference.

I know Yahoo Sitexplorer is for checking the inlinks, and I believe too that Majestic SEO does the same. Or am I wrong? Really appreciate if some one would point out on this.

P/s - Which one would you follow?

    Majestic SEO has a more realistic number.... however when in doubt check both... as yahoo is dropping its backlink indexer, it won't be an option for much longer and even if, probably not updated

    I would follow Yahoo until its gone. Majestic SEO really is trash for most sites, because it has a very large delay before showing links for small sites. I have several sites showing 0 in Majestic while each have had 30-50 in yahoo for some time. I am pretty sure this has to do with the spidering abilites. Once Yahoo explorer is shut down, I don't think people will be buying Market Sam too much.

    You should try out SEO Spyglass, it's very good. Also, the free version is usually sufficient for analyzing most competitors backlinks.

        An excellent tool is Linkscape from seomoz dot org. But you have to be a paid member to use it. It crawls the web regularly and updates the important SEO factors all the time.

        Majestic SEO is a very good tool also but it is limited under the free version. A paid subscription offers better stats.
