I am planning to build a new niche site. Is it possible to aviod google dance if I purchase an aged domain from godaddy? I know new websites usually get heavy google dance recently. Does google dance only relate to brand new domain?

If you don't want to dance stay out of the disco.

But seriously, no-one without a swipe card for the Googleplex knows how or why. Age is a factor, but just one.

domain's age is only 1 fact, but there are more other. So only buying an old domain won't solve this problem

Google dance usually refers to serp ranking moving around, often during a new google update.

I think what you're looking to avoid is what most people call the sandbox. An aged domain can help with this, but it's not so much the age of the domain registration, but the age of the site actually in Google's index.

As already said, it's not the only factor (link velocity is another major factor), but it does matter.

      I agree with this assertion.

I'm not sure that I agree that "most people call" this the "sandbox". But I do agree the age of the domain isn't how Google establishes trust. Google doesn't look at domain level factors for indexing and ranking, they look at individual URLs. So I agree it is the time that a page (URL) has been indexed that establishes the level of trust bestowed by Google, along with other trust factors of course.

    Without dance no ranking.

Seriously..whenever i do the slightest links i see sites dancing, sometimes -40 for a day or two..sometimes vanishing totally for a keyword and then coming back a few days later.

I dont think its possible to do some good link building without seeing the google dance.
