is it wise/unwise to comment to the same thread (so long as it gets approved) with a URL to (2) different pages on the same site? Ex: comment with URL from main page and another comment a week or so later with URL to a separate page on your site?

Will this be seen as manipulating the SERPS by google?

    I am not sure if this will be manipulating the search engines, but you may upset the people that are running the blogs and they may look at your comments has spam. In the long run I don't see how commenting on the same topic would be looked at bad. That would be no different than having a discussion in a forum. Many people will have multiple comments on one page and have their signatures there. Granted it will be the same link, in my opinion it runs about the same.
