Adsense and Autoblogging

I hear a lot of people say that google will band you if you use your same adsense code in your autoblogs.
my question is, how is this different from having a website with 1000's of pages, and having one adsense account in it.
If you create a subdomain autoblogging system, shouldnt one adsense account do?
lets say you target Asianfood, and so all your blogs will have a .asianfood.com shouldnt all these mini-blogs be legit with the same adsense?
