Hi

If I want to build 100 quality profile backlinks. What are the characteristics? I guess it would be:
- In high page rank websites?
- Use different username?
- Use couple of different anchor keywords?

What else?

Profile backlink service was very popular in WF some time ago. However, most of the time, profile backlink method violates the terms of 3rd party websites. It is like: you register and put your link there without contributing to their discussion/community.

I doubt you get answer to your question here in WF.

Hmm... I'll try to phrase it gently:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS QUALITY PROFILE BACKLINKS.

There are just ****ty and ****tier (and I don't write it as criticism for profile backlinks, I think they are very good as 2nd/3rd tier).

Definitely. It's having a few, but profile backlinks should be WAY down your list of priorities.

enderZ has a good point about profile linking. It takes nothing to make a profile in a forum and then never use it again. I think this is one of the lower links out there. Not saying they are totally useless, but many of them you can't use anchor text, and it will not do anything in helping you create traffic, which in some cases can be better than a weak link. Spend your time creating articles and content, instead of just spamming forum profiles.

Sure there are, I'll explain in my reply to rahmat below.

The only reason it violates said terms are for two reasons:

    1. 9% of people who mass create backlinks don't know how to do so properly.
    2. Those website owners having their site spammed don't see any benefit.

The terms and conditions updated about spamming is just a symptom of the problem, not the source.

I welcome automated spam on nearly all my websites. You're probably scratching your head, so I'll explain.

Two major factors that determine where you rank in the search engines is content on the page, and how fresh that page is. Automated spam helps keep your pages fresh. So, if you have 10 sites battling it out for the first page and 9 of those pages aren't updated as frequently as yours, you're blog to win even though you have a ton of spam blog comments (all other factors being equal).

That's worse-case scenario, but it also helps show you how all those HPR websites got so loved by the search engines. So, in a way, they wouldn't be where they were without those hated spammers. It's amazing what can happen if a little bump is scaled by a large number of people.

Now, having said that, on to "what is a quality profile backlink":

99% (I'm not just tossing these 99's out there, nearly everyone doesn't get this stuff) of people who build backlinks don't create value with their spam.

What I mean by create value is leaving as little a footprint as possible (linking to a long post I wrote on it), and then building up the website you left it on.

The first point ensures that your backlink and content appear as if it were created for the first time. This helps you and that website you left it on. The next one is done by building more backlinks to the page you got your backlink from. This helps increase that page's authority (helping you), while at the same time increasing that website's authority and helping the entire website.

Not only does this give you a quality backlink, you've just benefited that website. If more people did this and more website owners understood all these points, they'd be praying more people would spam their site.

Yea, I was definitely intrigued after you said that.

To answer the question of what a quality profile backlink is....

Besides the fact that a profile link is a poor quality link anyway, one that resides on a high pr domain, .edu, or ,gov may be seen as being slightly better.

But really it's like asking what your favorit kind of poo to look at is. With corn? Who cares... it's still poo.

If you were to create web 2.0 sites like on free blog sites, you could add links into your text, which are the best kind to get.

Then use profile backlinks to backlink your good links.

Also, make sure you do something to get those profile links indexed, they're not very likely to do it by themself.

I disagree. Although I agree that comments help you keep content fresh - and freshness is important - I don't believe Google considers 'buy cheap viagra here' with a link to some dodgy spammy domain as good quality, fresh content.

Instead I think the number of outbound links to bad neighbourhoods would be more likely to do your site damage.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS QUALITY PROFILE BACKLINKS. There are just ****ty and ****tier.
Nicely put. Not saying that profile backlinks don't help at all, but if you're putting lots of time into it, you'd be better off putting your time into generating good content and carrying out other forms of linkbuilding.

The Warrior Forum backlinks are good quality and you don't have to violate any terms by adding your anchor text and your URL to your sig file as long as it's yours..

Google will index the forum rather quickly and the link are all DO FOLLOW links, which probably carry a little more juice than NO FOLLOW (which by the way DO work!)

I have another site that has over 100 forum posts backlinks indexed in Yahoo, Google and Bing....

    It works!

Try getting profile links from sites that are highly related to your market or niche, and then from sites that have any sort of domain trust with Google. (i.e. High-PR sites).

Even then, you're not really getting quality as profile links in general are just low quality.

One of the best way to create profile link is to do link on the higher PR sites, do follow and relevant to your niche, and make sure to supply all the important information into your profile to make looks real.

That was fine and it is always great if the link is dofollow.

These are useful,if we are doing naturally with posting description, making friends and being good part of it.A much better idea is to add value to a site and not just slipping in a back link.Backlinks and Linkbacks are very important to your site and how it ranks with relevance to search engines.

A Back link that contributes to the community that it is part of and positively contributes to "the food chain" in terms of quality, interest and usefulness.
