Hello,

My website is currently on the first page of Google for every major keyword. It has been for a long time, however I cannot get my page rank up. It's only at 2 and I cannot understand why. I have a very low bounce rate (25 - 30%). It's an HIV positive dating site. The address is hivandsingle.com. Any suggestions?

Toolbar Page Rank really doesn't matter any more - its much more about theme, content, freshness, link quality and link authority. If you've got good rankings on Google for your target keywords and you're getting traffic, why worry about PR? Just concentrate on link building the way you are to get your positions up.

To raise your PR, you'll need direct links from the homepage of other high pr sites.

So if you were to get a few pr 4 links, it COULD raise your pr.

But like previously mentioned, PR doesn't mean much any more. If you're ranked and getting traffic, that's what matters. You could spend a few hundred buying some of those high pr backlinks here on the warrior forum in the link swap section though if it's an ego thing.

Not saying it is, but hey... for some people it is, and that's ok.

Why would you care about pagerank? It doesn't make you any money.

I also get a little perplexed when I hear people say it doesn't matter anymore. PR may not have has big of an impact as it did before. Think of this. If google is the one that is assigning the page rank, don't you think it still counts for something? Or is Google just randomly throwing out information for no reason. Page rank itself is what Google thinks of your site, so in essence it is something that you should try and obtain. Now with that said, it is not something that you should work at. If you are able to get your quality back links, continue to have traffic, and create good content, then you will be able to gain page rank. Just work on your other seo, and your page rank will follow.

The best way to get PR is to get links from other high PR pages. But, PR is not all that important and you should really focus on other aspects as PR will not prove to be very useful to you.

Page Rank is only good if you're going to be selling the website/flipping it, or selling links.

I have many websites that have 0-2PR and outrank websites that have been around for much longer and have a much higher PR than me.

The only factors you should be concerned with are your position in search results and checks in your bank account.

Porn, Dating, Weightloss, Forex, etc. type websites are much more susceptible to manual reviews, and thus have a much more stringent set of checks in determining quality.

The main ways to increase page rank are: domain age, quality content, high CTR when your website listing appears in search results, and backlinks. There's a lot of others, but those are the three most-niche-non-specific ones.

PR 2 is not bad at all and If you can optimize your site consistently then It'll be more easy for you to get good ranks. Get some relevant backlinks from quality sites and also try to make link with .gov site. Update your site content in a regular basis as Google loves fresh content and try to give it searchers the latest update.

Pagerank is derived only from the average sum of the backlinks to yours site and their respective pagerank.

Get more pages with high PR to link to your site and your sites PR will raise.

Is it important? Thats a whole different question and not a yes/no answer...
