Pretty happy with my progress!

I really started working on my site in January. (The farm one linked below). I started writing articles this past month and so far, a few of them are ranked on page 1 for my keywords! Another is on page 2 (not a great thing, but still!).

Last week, I had 177 visits with a 66.67% bounce rate. The bounce isn't great, but it's due in part to Stumbleupon, I think.

My Alexa ranking (I know, I know, it doesn't matter much) has finally gone under 1 million globally and is at about 84k locally (US).

I'm just pretty jazzed all around - it turns out I DO know how to write SEO articles!!!

Well done to you That's a nice looking site too.

Just a couple of things I would personally maybe look at to make your visitors experience a little better - maybe put more of an incentive for them to sign up for your newsletter. I like the form itself, and the placement is great, but maybe if you said something like "Sign up for our gardening newsletter and receive FREE gardening tips and advice!" or something like that, it would bring you more subscribers Also, to see all the content on the site, I had to click 'Parker Pond Farm Table of Contents' and was then taken to a list of categories. I think it would be better if you had the list of categories somewhere on your homepage so your visitors can easily access them

Sounds like you are making some excellent progress though, congrats and keep up the great work

Kudos for the good work uve done in your site!Would suggets you consider having a landing page for those interested in checking outyour stuff, then redirect them to your main site after showing interest. The newsletter is also a brilliant idea, try it,it works.

I think these were both great ideas. The reason I didn't originally put the table of contents on the main sidebar was that I had too many categories! I've made quite a few of them "child" categories now, but the category list is MUCH longer than the content in the main column. It looks wonky. I agree though. My tag cloud is huge, and I'm wondering if maybe I'm adding too many tags per article?

Congratulations!! And the design is cool.

Would you like to share where you submit articles to?
    Thanks.

Thanks! I don't really submit articles anywhere but on my site. I have a Squidoo lens, but it's pretty un-populated thus far.

Regarding the next post, it is a Wordpress site. I'm adding new content daily (or close to it), so hopefully that will continue to improve my site rankings. This is a truly non-niche type site, in that it's not geared just for traffic/making money, though that is my goal. It's mostly because I love organic gardening! I do use the Google Keyword Tool for article ideas and I also pick them up from other successful gardening sites, always writing my own original content on the topic (I don't use their article at all).

So, it's not quite the same objective of a high-powered niche market site at all, though overall, my articles are aimed in that direction. The articles I've written have indexed quickly (thanks to my heavy use of the "share" button), and the traffic has been picking up pretty steadily. Now, if I could just get folks to click the stinkin' ads! (Without asking them to!)

    Wow, I like your site.
You should make more sites like this and cover a lot more related keywords.
The articles can be similar but try not to copy them.
You can have the same ads or change these up a little.
