Use Google Keyword Tool for Article Ideas

I have been using Google's Keyword tool to find niche topics to write articles about. It's been pretty successful so far. A few are ranked on page one, and a few more page 2 and 3 (working on those!). I think it's a valuable tool to use, not just to get your niche domain name, but to increase the value and rank-ability of your website post pages. Anyone else doing this? Just thought I'd share.

Thanks! Are you going for fairly 'long-tail' type keywords? And you are talking about publishing articles on your own site, right, not on EZA, or whatever?

I am doing a lot of that lately, trying to build out those 'mini' sites with additional articles on related topics, and there are actually a ton of related, not-so-long tail keywords with good search volume that might not be too hard to rank for, especially as the site as a whole gains in authority. I am a bit slow with producing the articles, though, and still waiting for more concrete results on that. Also not really sure how much additional SEO needs to be done on these pages - hate all that backlinking, arghhhh...

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

Yup the Google KW tool is great for getting content titles (articles for directories, and content for your own site). Also try the Google Wonder Wheel for search terms that Google deems related to eachother.

I use fairly long-tail keywords or those that have weak sites on page 1 of Google, I'll try those too. Worst case scenario, you have a great article that may not rank on its own. I start with a general term and then look for more specific search terms with good traffic (exact match). Then I search THAT term and see what happens. You can take it pretty deep that way. You can use this for either your own site or articles on others - either way, you'll have good content with a highly trafficked keyword phrase.

Can anyone guide me on how to use the adwords external tool to find relevant niche titles? I use EZA's title suggestions to do the same. Does keyword tool do any good? Regards,

I also like to enter keywords into Google's Wonder Wheel and see what phrases it produces, plus I use Google Instant for some very useful suggestions.

Good tip, and I use it often too. I also find good use for the Google Trends tool.
