Hey guys, just wanted to ask a quick question regarding an effective keyword tool....

At the moment im using traffic travis, some say its a good keyword tool, and others say its results is far off from what should be, any opinions to what would be the best tool, and if I should stick with traffic travis.....

There is a keyword traffic traffic says gets 140 daily searches which is "how to lose fat arm" and google keyword tool, is telling me a completelyu different search result, that it only get 10 monthly searches.....

is google lying, or is traffic travis giving me the wrong results??

thanks

I use Market Samurai and Micro Niche Finder. MNF is not very expensive and it is good. MS is more expensive but it has a lot of extra modules.

Many people say that Google Keyword Tool is all that you need and they are not wrong but I like to have some extra bells and whistles.

Another recommendation for Keyword Sniper 2.0. You can generate a whole host of keywords that google keyword tool doesn't come up with.

However, I would say that it's only really good for keyword generation, not keyword analysis - a really effective competition analysis feature would make it a lot more of an all round keyword tool.

True, however I like to manually check out the competition on page 1 myself anyway.

    Guys,
I use Niche Monarch tool. It searches for 100 top keywords, analyses competition and gives average top 10 page ranks for the 100 keywords. You can easily pick 20-30 in any niche market and dominate those. Also, it gives us number of indexed pages in google and yahoo. Only thing you have to do is enter a niche market word and click GO.
In addition to this, you get video making and distribution tool. The best thing is that you get it for just $1. Yah!! You will not find the $1 link directly. Open, the page and then try to close it. While closing you will get the option for $1. In addition to this, the training videos are superb.

Also, prior to this I was using 'Keyword Samurai' tool. But, in that you had to use google insights and the tool. But, things are so simple and effective with Niche Monarch.

Also, other features include it's integration with google trends, google hot searches and google insights. So, it's the best in the market, no Doubt about it..and that too for just $1 ( he he.. i told you how to get it for $1 )
    So, Good Luck!!

I bought Profit Monarch and the Niche Monarch software worked for about the time of the return period and now doesn't work. It runs to the waiting for captcha then does nothing. Several emails to the support address and no reply. Wondering if they went out of business or just poor customer service.

I had a similar question not too long ago. And, I now have my own opinion.

I am sure that many of the paid keyword tools that are being promoted on this thread have some worth. But why pay for something that no one can report to you with 100% accuracy. In my opinion, they are all estimates derived from some proprietary software (algorithms).

You can use Travis, Google KW Tool, SEObook, and free version for WordTracker which are free and get an estimate of what that keyword is generating.

    Why spend money for guestimates?

    Carlos

I originally purchased Micro Niche Finder and used it. Then a couple of weeks ago I purchased Market Samurai and I must say I really like Market Samurai better. With the new default settings Market Samurai does a really good job of sorting through all the keywords and find ones that are worthing trying.

Traffic Travis is good for checking website competition, but don't trust the star rating. It can be way off. Just look at the chart/table it creates and then judge for yourself.

    hi Louise,
you really only need Google keyword tool. Yes other options are available but you don't need to. Especially if you're new to online marketing it may just confuse you. Grasp how to use Google keyword tool then expand or hire someone to do work for you.

    Hi Louise!

    So from my quick gander:

    "how to lose fat arm"

has 9,900 global BROAD searches a month.

When I switch to exact (which you should base your research on) it says LESS than 10 exact searches a month for "how to lose fat arm"

so based on that I would say it's a trash keyword.

Traffic Travis might be telling you the broad searches. I don't use it, but anyways it sounds like a bad keyword.

Personally, I would get out of weight loss for a while and do something less saturated.

BUT if you have to do the "lose fat" niche, you may want to look at "Losing hip fat" and "losing thigh fat" and focus on that.

    For example:

"how to lose fat on hips" only has 170 global exact searches, but there are also only 22 (yes 22!) results in google for the keyword in title. (allintitle: "how to lose fat on hips" 22 results).

Oh WOW. I just found "how to lose hip fat fast" that might be good! Sure it's only 260 global exact searches, but there are only 24 results (!!!) with the keyword in the title!

    AND:

"lose fat hips" has 390 global and local exact searches a month, with 1310 results for the keyword in the title (allintitle: "lose fat hips") (definitely more rough)

    BUT

the exact match domain IS currently available! I just checked on Namecheap.com and losefathips.com is available as of now (check my post date and time.)

So a plan for you if you want to go after the "lose hip fat" niche:
    1. buy "losefathips.com"

And write great content (500 words or more per keyword) on these keywords:
"lose fat hips" 390 global exact (main kw)
"how to lose hip fat fast" 260 global exact
"how to lose fat on hips" 170 global exact

    1. Find a couple more low comp kw's.
    2. Write good 500+ word content on all these (you SHOULD vary the content and maybe the title just a little to make each page different and very unique) take a different spin on each of these
    3. Keep writing.
    4. Get some rankings, (and you'll pull in traffic from other long-tail kw's too)
    5. Start going after bigger more competitive "lose hip fat" kw's
    6. Scale, baby scale!

    ---

PHEW! wow I didn't plan on writing a short GUIDE on this little niche, but hopefully that's helpful!

SOMEONE needs to jump on this! (don't worry, I'll save it for you guys.)

    Do it guys!

OH YEAH. P.S. All I used was The Google Keyword tool and the allintitle: "[your keyword]" search in google.com

It's simple but you have to dig!

I think GKT isn't most effective keyword tool.
Are the Google Keyword Tool can to collect keywords of your competitors? Can it take into account the sentence on the same topic, but does not include the words you invented? You shouldnt neglect the paid services, such as Semrush ($ 49) Spyfu (79 $) or Keywordspy ($ 89). These tools are more widely implement a keyword search. It is worth it if you're seriously doing your job.

Regarding keywordspy, I ran one of my own websites just to test it, and it showed several obsolete links that have not existed in over a year. Also many of the keywords that showed up have nothing to do with my site. That's not very confidence inspiring.

As suggested, the GAKT does seem to fluctuate sometimes and also only shows you limited results. In terms of keyword suggestions, I don't think anything beats Keyword Sniper Pro. But obviously if you've got 1 or 2 specific keywords in mind that you want to check out the search volume for, just head to the GAKT.
