Any Wordpress plugin that will help me get my images into the sitemap?

I have hundreds of images that are labeled and tagged in a Nextgen Gallery over several pages. I used the Yoast SEO plugin to generate the .xml and it works fine, but ignores the images completely. I tried other sitemap plugins, none worked any different than Yoast

Anyone have a solution for me?

Also, will having the images indexed help? They are relevant to the site, but specific items, like a website for cars and photos of models of cars. That may be the better question, as if it won't help, or will help very little, I won't bother.

You need to seo the images on-page, they will get picked up by Google.

    Yukon, You're everywhere!

I have alt tags for all of them, but they don't show in the indexing. Now I'm thinking that Nexgen works by putting a link on the page to the gallery and it's not on the page. Back to square one.

How do I get images in a Nexgen Gallery to be indexed?

When you view your page source do a page search from your browser for the keyword alt, does the alt-text show up for your image?

You can also check the Google Cache (text-only version) to see If your alt-text is showing up on the Google Cache, If so, your good to go.

Ok, nevermind. They were indexed. Sometimes I don't think to double check first.

I looked at Google images using Site: and there they all were, tags and alt tags. It seems that WP doesn't add urls for the images, but they do get indexed from the page with the gallery somehow.
