Many links from one site

Recently, when I checked my backlinks, the tool indicated, that I have hundreds of backlinks only from one single blog.
I cannot explain that, because I have never been to this blog before and I cannot imagine, that the owner of the blog is linking every single post to me.
Could anybody explain that and tell me if this affects my SEO in a negative way and if yes, how to stop it?

Thanks!

I've had it happen to me before but it was a blog I'd visited. I left one comment on one page and then all of a sudden I had about 50 backlinks showing up from various pages on the site.

It's not going to affect your SEO in any way as far as I know. I don't think google actually 'penalizes' sites for junk links as some people refer to it. I believe they just don't give any weight to those junk links.

I think your link is in his blogroll. So better contact him.

Surely this is a good thing isn't it? Free backlinks!

However, I'd always recommend diversifying your link building activities to ensure more stable, long-lasting rankings.

This is happening to me right now. My site is doing the google dance, so I don't think it's a huge deal really.

    Hi,

It’s fine. Perfectly normal behaviour and common across the web.

Google won’t penalise you for it.

    Thanks!

Be happy! There is no such thing as a bad incoming link. Now on the other hand, if you link OUT to a bad site that is different. Those links CANNOT hurt your site, at worst they will have no effect at all but they will most likely benefit you. People pay to get on blogrolls and such.
