Think this is a good keyword/niche to make a site on?

Am a newbie and am wondering if this would be good enough stats to make a site on this niche.. Im able to get a .com thats the EXACT same as the keyword and will be doing back-links, quality content.

CPC = 1.00 Exactly
Global Monthly Searches : 9900
No other sites like it or using adsense

Never use broad for what you're doing now. Always use exact. Use broad and compare it with phrase - when there is a large discrepency here, that means there are a ton of longtails available.

Mike's right. When doing your keyword research look at EXACT LOCAL MONTHLY searches... That will give you a MUCH better idea of the search volume for your term. The top 10-20 search results for your search term is your competition - broad search in Google... No brackets or quotes.

The keyword sounds good overall

Just checking to make sure you know the main things to check when determining if a site can be "knocked off" easily (you do claim to be a "newbie" after all ):

-Site's PR
-Site's backlinks as determined by multiple sources (Google as well as Yahoo Site Explorer, etc)
-Site's keyword optimization (if the title/description/content imply it is optimized for a keyword which is not the same as yours, all the better)
