Tips to get Relisted in Google after Delisting

Long story short, 11 year old domain, "energizing" some backlinks... meaning building backlinks to my backlinks. Disappeared from the Google directory. Our site is no longer there when site:"my site" is searched.

So... first, I'm surprised. If this could happen to our site, couldn't someone do this to a competitor's site and get it delisted?

Any suggestions from anyone with experience?

Thanks in advance,
falcon

You must have done something seriously off if a 11yo domain got deindexed. Are you positive its totally gone? PM the Url if you want.

It could be too many backlinks too quickly, but I think they would just drop your site down in the rankings in that case. I don't think a competitor could get a site delisted that way but a competitor could report you if they see that you aren't conforming with one of Googles rules.

It could be that they think the content too thin or one of the other reasons that you will find listed in the Webmasters tools. If you can figure out what they think you have done wrong sort it out, add some good content unique to your site and request reconsideration. It could take a few weeks but if you can make them happy with what you've done and grovel some it should go back again.

    Thanks for your advice.

The only thing happening is the following:

"energizing or backlinking" backlinks to my site.
added 50 edu backlinks (not pinged)
I've sponsored some wordpress themes over the past 6 months.
    That's it.

I submitted a request for reconsideration and explained what we hired a company to do for us as SEO. Guess we'll see.

I did check using the site command and it ain't there.

    all the best,

Every time I read a thread like this, I'm curious as to whether the site is still in the other search engines (I'd guess they would be). Have you checked, and if you did, what did you find?

    Today, when I check using:

    site:mysite.com

    I find my pages.

When I just type in my company name, there is nothing. What does this mean, anyone?

I do still come up in Bing.

I've filed a request for reconsideration with the Big G. Should know something in a couple weeks, hopefully.

    Thanks in advance,

So, you are showing up in a site search again? If thats the case, its probably a google dance. I have had sites dissappear from the listings and then climb rankings, but usually only after very extensive backlinking.

Once a site is delisted it's impossible to get it back.

No it isn't. You just sort out the problem if you can and apply for reconsideration.

No it's not gone for ever. This happened with me once. One of my sites went missing from the index completely. I made sure that my site was 100 percent compliant and then asked for a reconsideration and explained my past mistakes and how I corrected them and then submitted it.

They sent me the usual automatic reply email that they would look into it.

After a month or so, my site reappeared on the first page for my keywords network marketing opportunities and mlm opportunities.

Today it (networkopportunities.net) fluctuates between the 5th to 8th spot for network marketing opportunities on the first page and for mlm opportunities, it moves back and forth between the first and second pages.

One of the biggest bloggers (John Chow) got his site delisted from Google years ago. John got fed up with always trying to please the search engine and decided to build quality content directly for his readers. After he did this for a while, visitors were coming from 'word of mouth' referrals by the droves.

When people started typing into the search bar for 'John Chow', they couldn't find him and this made Google look bad since they were trying to keep up their good rep for being able to Google anything.

They were forced to put John's site back into their listings.

The chances for getting relisted are VERY, VERY slim.

Google is notorious for being merciless, whether its delisted sites or banned adwords or adsense accounts.

I once purchased a domain where i found out it was delisted since the former domain owner must have done something odd...even after owner change and making a GOOD site on it i never got this indexed, even after filing for consideration.

Sorry...the chances are just extremely slim.

    SO...

Since I can find my pages by typing site:mysite.com, does this mean I am delisted or that I am smacked?
