My site lost its ranking today ? What is the reason behind it.?

Hello friends.

I have been optimizing my site for about 8 months, and in fact most of the keywords are ranking very well in the 1st page of google.com.au.

But today morning when i check my site rankings almost every keyword my site is not ranking or pushed to 100th ranking or even more down to google.com.au. On seeing this i was very much disappointed, since til last week i could rank for more than 180 keywords for my one site, and now it has lost its ranking in search engines.

I can't guess what the problem exactly was. In fact the backlinks remains the same. I could also see the last cached was on 19th march 2011.

Please friends suggest me some ideas to get my rankings back in the same position. Or else what i have to do if i need to get the ranking as what it was earlier.

    See changes are always been happening with Google and it is a common thing to lose ranking this happens but please keep on running your SEO strategy to maintain ranking.

      How long have you had the rankings?

      • short term rankings, Google, is trying to place you somewhere
      I think Google is still trying decide to place everybody, sometime my site is like that, go down 100 up 100, or down down 100 up 90.

      It also depends on the user intent, do you have a product site and the most searchers are looking for info, example: if I type in weather in Tampa, Google is going to show me the exact weather as it right now, now the history of the weather

        I have been ranking for the past 6 months. i could rank 180 keywords for my website. All were in the 1st page of Google.com.au. But now it has gone down.

        For few keywords the page which was ranking earlier, was showing another page when i search for the same keyword, that too the position goes down.

        Please suggest and help me, to solve my problems.

    You haven't told us what kind of site this is. If it's any kind of automated or scraped content then... there's your problem. And that's not new after the farmer/panda update, they have been deranking thin sites for years (I should know :/).

    If not, well, it COULD be a 'dance', but a bit unusual if it's 8 months old, and you say you haven't done any backlinking recently...

      I am optimizing my site for the past 8 months. I started to rank my site after 2 months when i started my work. For the past 6 months i could rank around 180 keywords for my site. And suddenly my site goes down for most of the keywords. I could not find the best solution, at present.

      But i am thinking how could achieve my ranking as like it was earlier.

      My site is - Business Process Outsourcing Companies BPO Firms Services BPO Process Australia Business Processes Outsourcing

      Please help me, what i have to do? May your tips can help me in getting rid of my problems.
