Hi

I am new to this Internet Marketing stuff. I created one article submitted to two article directories (Articlebase and Goarticles) as well as my Blog.

I used Google Keyword Tool and found the term 'create success' with low competition. Global Monthly searches; 2,400 and Local Monthly Searches is 170.

I now occupy Position 1,2 and 8 for the phrase 'create sucess in your life now'. This was done within two hours.

How much traffic can I expect to recieve?

    Ranking on the first page in Google.com doesn't guarantee you will get a lot traffic to your website.

    Some keywords are not "click target" keyword.

    Example, "free download" keyword is not a keyword you will get traffic because it doesn't target to anything. Maybe your site is "free download software" but the searches looking for "free download movie".

    You need to submit more articles to article directories bacause the more articles you submit the more visitors/traffic you get. You can as well submit that same article to other article directories. Below are my favorite article directories register with them and submit more article...and see your traffic increase.

    Alexa PR'S
    ezinearticles.com ------- 126 ------------- 6
    * articlesbase.com -------- 354 ------------- 6
    * suite101.com ------------ 659 ------------- 7
    * buzzle.com -------------- 759 ------------- 6
    * articlesnatch.com ----- 1,467 ------------- 5
    * helium.com ------------ 1,527 ------------- 6
    * goarticles.com -------- 1,710 ------------- 4
    * articlealley.com ------ 2,200 ------------- 5

      • Yes, ranking in Google doesn't mean you get all the traffic.

        This is the general standard guideline for traffic on the first page, but it is just a rough guideline. If you have a good catchy description you could get more traffic.

        Ranking #1 gets 42.1 % of clicks
        Ranking #2 gets 11.9 % of clicks
        Ranking #3 gets 8.5 % of clicks
        Ranking #4 gets 6.1 % of clicks
        Ranking #5 gets 4.9 % of clicks
        Ranking #6 gets 4.1 % of clicks
        Ranking #7 gets 3.4 % of clicks
        Ranking #8 gets 3.0 % of clicks
        Ranking #9 gets 2.8 % of clicks
        Ranking #10 gets 3.0 % of clicks

    So me ranking on Google's 1st page isn't a big deal?

    What kind of Global Monthly Searches number should I be focusing on?

    Like I said above, I occupy Position 1,2 and 8.

    I just want to know if I am targeting keywords which would generate traffic in the first place.

    I mean for example targeting a phrase which has Global Monthly searches of 2,400 worth investing the time in.

    The average traffic you get is somewhere around 1/3 of the total searches per keyword.

    P.S. You misused your keyword tool. For match types select "exact" instead of broad. Your global monthly searches for that keyword is actually 720. Which means you might get around 200 people a month.

    I've wondered why is it people say do exact? since when searching out competition most people don't use the phrase in brackets do they? so those are the results you have to be competing against rather than just the exacts no?
