People need to realize that AdSense got really, really strict.

If you use themes like "i dont say the name" "high CTR" themes you are really gambling. Please look around on the forum and WHY people got banned on AdSense or worse, got their site deindexed.

Once a Adsense account reaches a certain threshold ($100 i think) they will usually do a manual review. And AdSense can have many reasons to ban you.

I see many wordpress themes out there which are basically against AdSense TOS. A high CTR wont help you if your account got disabled.

It's really a balance act whether you want to be on the safe side or if you want to risk your account for getting 5% more CTR. You decide.

I am writing this since ever since if you look here on the forum and people are crying they got banned or deindexed its mostly always the same pattern, the same thin MFA sites, the same "high CTR" themes, using copy/paste content from ezine...sites with barely 5 pages of content, misleading placement of ads, ads on privacy/terms page etc.

You need to think about those things BEFOREHAND!

(IMO, some people have sites which are only still active because they were lucky they didnt have a manual review yet. Please think about what impression YOUR site will make if a Google employee goes to your site RIGHT NOW..and assume the worst and just imagine that they really, really "hate" MFA sites and affiliates )

Yeah, I am personally getting away from the Xfactor-type theme and mixing things up - that thing just stands out a mile. But actually I think that theme is well within Adsense TOS, and John Xfactor never got banned! I just think you can attract undue attention to yourself because you are screaming "I am overoptimising for Adsense!!" so best avoided if you don't know what you are doing.

Still, can be a fine line between optimising for good CTR (hey, Google themselves TELL you how to do that!) and violating the TOS. The golden rule is if you are tricking or misleading visitors into clicking then you are on thin ice.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise
