So ive started putting my link in the actual comment in addition to the website field. Im doing this mainly because my comments are relevant and I figure it might help get some extra link juice. Have people noticed any difference as far as link power from blog comments actually having the links in the comment section? I would figure Google would see these links as more relevant considering the blog owner allows them to be printed and viewable on their blog but I could be wrong.

More importantly check if the comments are do-follow as the main exercise is getting backlinks.

Backlinks from relevant websites are beneficial, can bring you traffic and pass your website PR juice if they are do follow.

Hey guys thanks for the responses but im experienced and understand the whole do follow and backlink thing. Ive ranked many websites using blog comments as one of the pieces of my link building campaign. Im basically asking whether having the actual link in the comment is better to the point where it is worth doing. If it has the same effect as just having it in the "LINK" field then I won't bother. Anyone ever test this and have any input.

It's still having the same credibility for the link juice. First of all, they are on the same page and your main purpose here is to put your link to this page, so it's either you put your link on the link field or put it in your comments, there's no difference from it, but it's a matter of how you will put your anchor texts properly, in order to avoid to look like a spam.

Very interesting, since I actually just started trying this today as well. Up until now I had only put them in the name field, but this can look a little spammy.

Now I am trying to make relevant comments with a nice little signature at the end, which has my site and anchor text. I think it looks a lot less spammy that is for sure.

Blog commenting is a good source of quality backlinks, but make sure that it is in a high page rank and related topic as well.

For me, posting comment on blog is good but you must do it manually. Do not do by bots with general comments because webmasters hate this very much.
