Hello friends.

Nice day to again chat with my friends community.

My question is how we can optimize image in a website? or Is there any separate algorithm for optimizing images in Google, Yahoo and Bing? or whether it is necessary to optimize the images in our site? or Whether optimizing the images would result in pushing the keywords or helps in keyword ranking in search engines.

You can designate a name or term for each image, which will help optimize it.

Optimizing images for the web is a little bit tricky business. You have to get the right balance between filesize and picture quality. It is an essential step though. As you can see in any webpage, and you will see that most of its load time comes from images. Your website will be needlessly slow if you don't drop the sizes of these images.

    A few things:

    1) Size matters, thumbnail images will get buried in Google Images. Keep the image size approx. 200x200 pixel or larger.

    2) Alt-text (use it)

    3) Keyword text that is above or below the image will help.

    4) Type of image, Google Image can determine certain types of images (human face, logo, colors).

    5) Don't forget backlinking.

Backlinking is the exact same as If you was promoting a web page, except you need to backlink with your image url (hotlinking). Below is an example of how to backlink an image.
