Hi all,

First time poster, long time lurker of this forum. I've learned so much from you guys, so first off, thank you! It's still overwhelming to see all the different methods of effectively marketing a website. I've done some serious research and I'm ready to move forward on implementation, but I wanted to run it by the trusty users of this site to see what you all think.

Site: greenrayvehicles(dot)com
I'm selling a Remote controlled electric golf caddy

Method of marketing: SEO blogging/PPC/Forum posting

So I plan on doing a few different things.
I want to start a blog section on the website that talks about several things about the golf industry in general, including the health benefits of walking the course, PGA news, etc. Not just focusing around caddies, but just good quality content about the golf world. I'm thinking of 2-3 blog posts/week directly through the site.

Second is Adwords. I've been doing some research with the Google keyword tool, and believe to have found some keywords. I'm not sure if I should market the 10-11 low competition/high search keywords, or if I should have like 200-300 keywords per campaign. I'm thinking of taking the 10-11 strong keywords, and creating a campaign individually for each one, providing about 15 keywords that compliment them... If that makes sense... I have a $100 credit, but I'm nervous that these campaigns are not optimized to where I'd like it to be. Is it a good idea to start with 3 or 4 campaigns, each with about 15 optimized keywords, and put a $10 day limit/$1.5 CPC max to test the waters?

Third is forum posts. I'm trying to be actively involved in the online golf community talking about a range of topics. The only reason for this is backlinking to my site with the link in my signature. I want to do 2-3 unique forum posts/day, on at least 2 sites.

All the while, I'm going to try to add more keyword driven content to the website where needed. I've been looking at sites like linkrefferal, but I don't know if there's any real value to that.

Also, I've starting a Facebook and a Twitter page for the company, and I'm trying to post updates whenever available through those mediums. Getting friends and followers is a difficult task, though, and seems like a whole different animal to deal with.

So those are my ideas for the time being. I'm concerned that this isn't enough, though, or that I'm missing something that could drive lots of traffic to my site effectively. It's a very unique product with minimal competition, so I feel like it's definitely marketable. But in such a flooded SEO market, I know I have to think outside the box. Any ideas you guys have will be extremely helpful, and thank you in advance for your time.

I think you are on to a great start with your plans. You have a better plan than most people who are starting a site. Be confident and open to change when things don't work. Good luck

This is great, you seem to have your on-page SEO down. I would suggest building some links and focusing on off-page SEO as well as your Google Places listing.

Buster, I can't recommend that you use Wordpress enough. It's free, easy to use and update and there are some great SEO tools, many free as well.

OK.. So I should run a blog on a separate site, then, and not through my business site.. With subject matter being about Caddies, their benefits, and golf industry news?

I'm struggling coming up with what the image will be for this blog. Will I just occasionally link back to my site, writing good keyword generated content? Or would I directly and non-subtly advertise my company through the blog, complimented with other golf news content?

      Thanks for all your feedback!
