Hey there......I just got my site live and am starting on SEO. Have hired a company that has a dedicated staff member working on my site. While I am relatively inexperienced with SEO myself I want to make sure that I know enough to ensure that I am getting my monies worth.

Here is what they have told me in regards to the SEO.

Google values a website & keywords of the website, majorly on 3 factors:

• Onpage aspect i.e how well is your website indexed
• Content with right keywords count
• Link building from various section i.e Direct website + Blogs + Forums + Press releases etc...

Once the Onpage is executed, the SEO expert gets Links to the website, not for links the Project manager send request to various related website, articles, blogs ect... and as on approval from the webmaster of the submitted website, first reviews the quality of links, verifies the links juice and the website and then approves the links. He approx submits over 75-120 links request a day and approx 8-20 links get approved which he submitted report daily.

Link building is a slow and manual process, and it all depends on approval of links, since you website is new and not full indexed the approval will be low in the first few months, since a website will only approve a links request if its good in Google Value. With time, you will see good high PR links approves as the website will be getting indexed and more approval will happen. At present since the website is new, and the not much marketing has been done the process will slow, but it will gain pace. That is the reason SEO is called a SLOW BURNER. I 100% assure you will get to see visible results on RANKING in first 2-3 months for sure.

Is everything that I have been told above correct? Is this how I should be spending $ on the SEO portion of things? Is it realistic that this is what 1 person should be accomplishing in 1 day?

Your advice is very much appreciated

Your site is totally new. It will take at least 2-3 month to visible in major Search engine. Don't worry those process which you mentioned is absolutely correct. After 2 month start some quality link building work which helps enhance your website PR.

Ya most of that seems good. You can see results much quicker though, I usually see results on my new sites after link building in 1-2 weeks.

It really is going to depend on the difficulty of your keyword. Most likely you should have a budget of 200-300 per month for most niches.

that will cover someone running some bots and getting Zero and NA links. Thats way too low for someone in open negotiations with webmasters about getting real authority links. $500 is my low side and I have very few customers at that level.

I know some will blow back at that but it all depends on if you are running a real business website. Too many people at the lower end would not have a first clue as to how to get links with High PR while at the same time not expose the business owner to getting a business hurting rep as an online spammer.

anywhere from a few hundred a month to a couple thousand. the way that they are going about it takes time but is the only real way to get high PR page links that will last (outside of buying them). Frankly I wouldn't count on the two to three months if they phrase is really competitive. Not for top five placement that is and thats after the SEO plan is worked out etc.

For what you said 8-20 successful links a day, doesn't seem that great. It depends also on what types of links they are. You can check out my site in the link below to see pricing on different types of links. It is much cheaper if you think about it in numbers, but I am not sure what type of links your SEO is doing. If it is just article submissions, blog commenting, or profiles, it should be pretty cheap. Maybe $50/month. We do 400 successful Article Submissions, 10k Blog Comments, 10k Profiles for $20 each.

You hired a company? Or people working in a sweatshop that have an internet connection? Looks like you're getting a typical rant from someone that doesn't really do SEO. How well your site is indexed has absolutely NOTHING to do with your on page optimization. It should take them 1 day to optimize your site... only 1 day... perhaps they will go through your content and add a few of your keywords in fitted places, but still... one day.

If they are manually submitting links to blog owners, and other individuals with high rankings, then they are wasting time.

They can't promise you results... well, I guess a visible increase is okay to promise, but they can't promise you actual traffic because what they are doing isn't something that is building up your brand or visibility in a way that is effective.

If I did a link push using my own method, you would have about 15-20 links to your site.. and you would outrank people with thousands and thousands of links. If you hired a true SEO company, they wouldn't be giving you a daily report... the lowest plan I have available for clients is $1,000 a month, and I don't give them that option, I provide everything in a monthly report.

The visible PR does not mean much anymore. Trust rank is what matters and we don't have access to see that! Only google! It doesn't need to be 2-3 months to be visible. I have ranked sites in 5 days.

$200 from what they are saying.

EXACTLY... I'm glad you mention not exposing the business owner to getting a bad rep. We always focus on a clean link profile for our clients. I just think what he posted is fishy though, I don't think they are actually going to be doing much. Manually asking for a link on a site, is not going to get results... I have a few people with high PR sites that I can utilize and get a backlink from, but we have pretty high rates and we don't really do that. We create an off site network, build links to the pages off site, passing link juice through and helps the main site surge through the search engines.

Backlinks are obviously a main priority, but our biggest selling point is that we don't just build links, we build traffic, and that is traffic that isn't depending on google!

Since you took this as an investment, so you need to pre-estimate how much you can earn. Generally speaking, customers pay money for keywords ranking and traffic, where SEO company can bring your website to? How many traffic you get after SEO service? As to how much you should pay, it depends on what your niche is, those high-competitive niches SEO service ask for more money of course.
