Buying PR Expired Domain - Can the PR drop?

Hi...

im planning to buy an expired domain with PR3....im wondering if i bought the domain today,can the PR of the domain drop for the next Google updates?...

anyone can help me?

    No one could tell when the next pr update would be. As far as I know, domains with PR are losing their PRs even before they are deleted... Deleted or dropped domains does not have PR because they were offline for a long time before they finally deleted from the record...I am not really sure but that's based on my experience...

    Yes it's possible.

    To prevent this to happen you have to update the content and build more backlinks to the domain immediately after you bought it. This will greatly reduce the risk but no one can be 100% sure.

    If the sites that are linking to the domain realise the site has gone offline, or changed, they may remove the links, meaning the PR will drop.

    Ofcourse, you could get lucky and nobody may notice, thus keeping your PR
