404 (Not Found) Crawl Errors

i went to google webmaster tools and realized i have (8) 404 (Not Found) URL's on my site which is actually doing well in the SERPs for it's young age.

About 2 months ago, a couple warriors recommended shortening the permalinks for each of my posts from:

website dot com/edgestar-32-bottle-dual-zone-wine-cooler

to

to website dot com/edgestar-32-bottle

is there a way to clear up these issues because all my posts now have shortened up permalinks? will these crawl errors hurt my SERP positioning down the line?

Make sure you don't have internal links pointing to the old URLs.

You did not mention what pages are not found.

Many times bots try and find pages that are not there because
they are programmed to look for certain pages. It does not
mean something is wrong. If you know a page exists, your
server may have hiccuped for a second when someone tried
to access a page. Those errors are very common.

The best thing you can do is make a custom 404 error page.
      You should have that anyway.
