    Hi prats2992,

    Domains don't have PR. PR, or PageRank, is assigned to individual web documents (URLs). If you do not keep the URLs intact, that inbound links were pointing at, then you will lose that PR. If the web pages that were linking to your URLs have your page's link removed then your page you will lose that PR.

    Often when someone purchases a domain from a preexisting website they will change the URL structure which causes the existing inbound links to be broken and all the PR derived from those links are lost. If you can, restore the previous link structure and you may see the PR return.

      How do you re-structure an existing domain?

        Hi Google.me,

        You don't re-structure a domain, you architect URL structure. If you have backlinks pointing to a particular URL, you should either recreate the same URL or redirect inbound request to an existing URL.

    One thing you could try is to capture the link juice of the pages that had links pointing to them in the first place, IF you have changed the content. This is done by converting you 404.php page to a 301 redirect using the following code:

    <?
    header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" );
    header( "Status: 301 Moved Permanently" );
    header( "Location: /index.php" );
    ?>

    This captures and conserves all link juice that may be dripping away and drying out into the unknown.

      Probably was a redirect that gave this guy fake PR. When they sold it they must of removed the 301

    if you want to say that you purchase these domain from other person and that time these PR is 1 and 2 but now it have 0 PR, then the first reason to lose PR is you have done some changes in site like you have change all content if i am correct then this is the main reason.

    You should keep the same URL structure and content with few more backlinks to your website. Check whether you lost PR as a part of any penalty. If yes redesign your website (according to Google guideline) and apply for Google reconsideration.

    Should I build backlinks to them?
    Always needed.

    The only way to return or improve your pagerank is making backlinks from high pagerank dofollow pages with a few number of outgoing links. In this case your pagerank will be increased at the next update.
