Backlinks Aren't Showing Up

I have written an ezinearticle, goarticle article, a squidoo page, hubpages hub, and infobarrel page to help get more backlinks. None of then are showing up when I use a backlink checker except for the infobarrel page. Why are these not showing up? They are all showing up when I search for them in Google but the backlinks aren't there.

It will show up in a matter of time. It will take quite a long time before search engines index your backlinks. You just have to be patient.

How much time. I am going through the same thing as the guy who started this thread and I'm going crazy right now doing all this work and seeing no results. How long should I wait before I KNOW it's not working?

Quite correct. They will show up with time. Try mix it up a bit as well. Comment on high PR page blogs as well. These will get crawled quickly and you'll get the credit sooner. Remember SEO is a game of patience. If it was quick and easy, anyone could rank well in Google. It's a desired skill for a reason

Instead of just submitting your article to one or two article directories such as ezinearticles, you need to find a website that will submit your article to at least 100 article directories all at once.

Also, not to discourage you, but there are many people who submit up to 50 articles every day, and then submit those 50 articles to hundreds of article directories. Of course they are using special software to do this, but if you are set on writing articles, you might want to do some research on Automation.

Search engine also needs time to crawl websites content. So be patient on that part. Sooner or later, your article will be index in google or in yahoo.

It can take weeks if not months! I have given up checking my back links most of the time and just keep on building. I used to check to soon and get frustrated. Time is all we need and lots of it.

Is submitting the same article to multiple places considered duplicate content?

Duplicate content would probably be more of a concern for you if you were submitting lots of articles on a daily basis. For best results in that case, you would need to 'spin' your articles. Meaning every time you submit your article, you change the wording, and there is special software to do this. However, since you only have a few articles at this point, I believe it is very common to submit it to as many directories as you can, and not getting hit with duplicate content. I don't do a lot of article marketing, but I hope this helps.

It will take some time for the search engines to find and index your backlinks, make sure you always ping your backlinks so the search engines will find them quicker, you can also bookmark them with a few bookmarking sites.

I'm relatively new but it seems that some links show up fairly quickly while others it takes longer. I would just wait it out more

I wouldn't worry so much about them not showing up but just keep working on building more! My backlinks can take months to show up. Others have mentioned ways to ping and so forth and if you really wanted to I guess you could try and force the indexing by google but either way you have to learn to wait and not worry.
