Using a Press Release to get a huge traffic boost

Fellow warriors,

I have multiple sites related to sports teams (football, rugby etc) and have often thought about a press release as a means of getting them some new exposure.

Is a press release worth the hassle and expense?

Many people here on Warriorforums are focused on driving traffic through links. Has anyone used press releases successfully to get some linkjuice and traffic to their site?

Press Releases are awesome! This is often overlooked but many are learning the power behind this. In some niches this is pure gold!

Check out sites like Prlog.com to publish your PR to...

Also, look on fiverr. You can easily find a gig to have a PR wrote and then find another gig to distribute it and you'll be set all for $10

    Good Luck

hmmmm.. interesting.. I keep reading more and more about using press releases for site exposure. Might have to give Coby's method a try as I'm too lazy to write a good PR myself

Jack Duncan has a great WSO that I've used myself for press releases. You might want to watch the video to see it in action:

Press releases are a no brainer really. They're easy, free and quick to do - but you need to tie your subject in with something that people care about.

Unless you're paying good money for top distribution your subject and headline will make all the difference and you could find a press release makes zero difference if not done well.

Don't waste your time on getting it done for $10 via Fiverr.

    nothing to see here.

Agreed, press releases can give you a nice traffic bump, if they're written correctly and submitted to the proper places. They can also get syndicated and give you some nice link juice and ongoing traffic both from the back links and the SEO benefits.

It has certainly helped me out before. The key is to write a powerful release with a compelling, newsworthy headline, or else it won't even get read by the folks that matter. You want it to get picked up by the big, reputable news services if you want the huge exposure numbers. If you make your release so good that the reporter can virtually cut and paste it into their article, it lessens their workload and makes it easier for you to get actually published.

Check out warrior Dana_W, she has a press release service and I think will even write a release for free (but don't quote me on that one).

I bought a deal for unlimited press releases through Emailwire, and what I have noticed is the following:

1)Traffic from press releases tends to stay on my site several HUNDRED times longer than traffic directly from Google

2)Some press releases continue to send me traffic for YEARS

So yes, press releases work as a method of building traffic. Make sure you choose keywords wisely and use those keywords in the headline and body of the release.

      Good luck,

One can increase turnover dramatically and can attract more and more customers to his/her website by submitting Press Releases. You can write press releases about your products or services; it will be a fair method to increase traffic to your website.
