Correlation between Google site: and link: searches

Hi,

Why is it that if i search for link:gofrostfire.com there is only say 4 results, but when i search site:gofrostfire.com on Google is shows lots of websites that link to Gofrostfire?

How is this data explained?

    Site will show you the pages of the site that are indexed, not pages with links to the site.

    The link command will only show a subset of pages with links to your site.

    site: is showing you the pages that google has indexed. link: is showing you the backlinks that google are will to share with you... For backlinks you want to use yahoo site explorer or backlinkwatch.com
