Site Directories Worth It?

I have found a good number of gardening directories that have high PR for their main page, but of course, not so much on internal ones. Is it worth it to submit my site to these directories? It doesn't take much time and it looks like most, if not all, of them are dofollow links. Yay or nay?

I say yay. If it isn't going to take much time then you might as well grab the backlinks in my opinion.

I also say yay. I happen to have a competitor that went the directory route and they got really great results. If it takes little time what can it hurt?? good luck!!

Yay. It doesn't really matter if internal links aren't as good as the main page. The internal linking thing is a myth from back in the good old days. So if you get a link on a site with a PR6 on the main page, but the page your link is on is PR0, it will still count at PR6.

Don't worry if the inner pages are lower than the homepage of a site. You can still benefit from it.

Since they are one way links and you do not get involved with linking back to any directories, so the answer is yes because directory links, one way formats, are still useful to get, even from low PR sites or very new ones.

The possible problem may arise when you get dozens of links from directories which require you to link back to them, as such reciprocal links may even damage ranks.

You don't have to mind the inner pages. If you have noticed that the homepage has a high PR, then it is good for you to submit your link.

Yeah, go for it, why not. I feel that if a directory is at least in some way moderated and does not require a reciprocal link then it has at least some sort of 'curation' authority with Google. Perhaps not a huge amount of juice, but maybe more than they have been given credit in recent years. I have been doing a little web directory experiment lately, if I get any interesting results I will report back.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

K, thanks everyone. I use SEO Quake to check their PRs so, I'm trying to stick with 4 or higher. I'll keep plugging away!
