I just have a few quick questions.

I applied for an adsense account about a month ago. Still no word from Google. How long does it take to get approved, on average? Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?

I am in the market for a VA. What is he average weekly/monthly cost I can expect to pay for a basic VA? Where can i find good one? Elance, odesk, freelancer Any other sites that may be cheaper/better?

Thank you

Justin

Hi Justin. I applied on Sunday and was approved on Monday. I wrote a few articles for Hubpages first, though. Maybe that is what helped me.

If you get officially "denied", just wait a week or so (or even a few days) and apply again. Make sure to keep feeding in content and expanding your site's visibility as you apply again, however. I've had plenty of "website under construction" denials from them for sparse content.

For me I got "hung" in their system which meant my status was in limbo for some reason. It took them a year to do anything about it and then I finally got approved.

I agree with the two post above.

It should take a little less than a week to get approved.
Did you have any problem with google in the past? (ban, suspended etc)

If so then you may need to sign up using a different name, address,
    credit card etc

    For my case,

It was 2006 where I applied for AdSense using my sister's personal blogspot blog.

Approval was speedy at that time.

Today, it almost seems to be a challenge when applying for an AdSense account.

I had to wait over two weeks to get approved for Adsense last month. When it said approvals take about a week. The annoying part is there are no phone numbers to call in the sign up section

Fo r getting an adsense account you must have a blog or site with some good content and must have your own domain.

For getting a VA i think odesk is a good option.

      • hi justin,
google is taking very much time for approving your site. as some of our friends said before it should not take long time for approving a good site. check all contents you provided in your site are beneficial to google or not. sometimes SEO works like back linking, social bookmarking, directory submission etc works are also needed in your site. as you are you are in the VA market you can hire some VA who knows some good SEO works like the names i mentioned above. i can suggest you to hire VA from odesk, it is really cheap and many SEO professionals are available who can easily solve your problem. in odesk average hourly rate will be $3-$5 /hour. but you can give them the project in fixed rate also. freelancer is more like odesk now. and elance is a professional and high cost site.i am himself also working on all three sites.
remember on thing, if your site do not show it's beneficial face to google then google take sometime to approve the ad sense
