Over the last day I have noticed that I have a huge drop in my sites rankings. Serveral number 1 spots have went down to 5th. Lot of top listing on Google have went down to the firth page. Does anyone have any idea why? I have built some link to this site, but don't know if I have been slapped or what?

May be the result of recent algorithm updates. Keep building quality links, and you will see it rise again.

For me the recent updates were positive. Many of my sites got a top 5 rankings, which were on the second and third pages before.

I may have brought a ton of quality links to the site to quickly. A lot of people that have more seo experience than I do think Google is just setting me aside for a sec to see if the link stick or something.

This is an important question to have the OP answer before trying to speculate on why his site has dropped.

Could be the dance, could be Panda, could be link activity, could be social disapproval, could be all sorts of things, but we'd have to know how old the site is before guessing.

I recently had a very rough time with a "pharma hack". It's very clever and hides itself fairly well, meaning you could go quite a long time without even knowing you've been hacked.

Anyway, the long and the short of it is that I ended up losing positions in the search engines that I've held for 5 years or more. ... Google says they can often spot these things and know better, but of course, much of what Google says publicly turns out to be BS.

One way to check for this specific hack is to search your site in Google:

        site:yourdomain.com pharmacy

        or

        site:yourdomain.com viagra
I checked with Website Security Check - Unmask Parasites and also a the pharmacy thing with Google. Nothing found.

No spammy techniques just natural link building.

P.S. it is my hosting review site in signature. Not sure what is up with it but I make decent amount of money from it so I am very concerned.

One of my main money sites plummeted yesterday to the end of the search results. Why? Most likely because I have renewed a link building campaign for the site and Google is simply "re-calibrating" or "dancing" with my site to determine where it will rank me next.

I got a solid $20 that once I come back I'll be ranked higher up page one than I was before the drop. It's easy to get panicked when this kind of thing happens, but one just needs to realize its the nature of the beast.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

it definitely the result of google's latest algorithm update. I have seen few others have the same complain.

Google changes its algorithm all the time. It was likely a result of that, but it's impossible to say for sure.

Maybe you're just affected by the so called Google Dance. Continue producing quality and natural backlinks to the site.

The new algorithm change shouldn't be too surprising for the site ranking drops. Your "natural" linkbuilding isn't so natural if you have to do it yourself.

Maybe that's the Google Panda update affecting your site. Your site's content should have quality. Check for duplicate pages. Avoid scraped content.

If I were you I would write more, longer and 'themed' articles to put on your site.
What I've also heard is that the review model is not much liked any longer (by big G).
Your design could also do with an overhaul. It looks 2004.

Drop in rankings is possibly a momentary one. The rankings are bound to pick up by adding new content I believe.
