Is it as potent to 'pass linkjuice' via link pyramiding?

I read that some people do alot of links to a web2.0 site then have that web 2.0 site link to their main money site.

So do those previous links you built for the web2.0 pass on down with as much potency as if you'd linked directly to your money site with them?

No, according to the PR formula, a significant portion of the PR juice stays with the pumper site and does not flow through.

The reason why people use these is to avoid penalties. Say you could build 100 links to your site before a Google slap.

Well if you have 10 Pumper blogs that each pass 30% of their PR to your site. Then you could build 100 links to them (1,000 links) and have 30% of the PR flow through to your site. So 10 links gives you the equivalent of 300 links. The web 2.0s are just a buffer.

So now imagine if you had 100 web 2.0s and you have 10,000 links, which really passes 3,000 links to your website.

My understanding of the original "pure" PR formula is that pages do pass the link juice through the links on a page. If a page has 10 "link points", it not only keeps 10 points, it also passes on 10 points.

However, for us it really doesn't matter, as it's unlikely Google uses "pure" Page Rank. There's other factors like Hilltop, Trust, Authority, Relevancy that probably also are factors into how much "juice" is passed.

And even if only "pure" PageRank was used, any link juice pushed to the 2.0 page would be divided between all the other links on the 2.0 page, including internal navigation links.

So even using my understanding of "pure" PageRank, if there's 9 internal navigation links on a 2.0 page and 1 link pointing to a money page, the money page is still only getting 1/10th of the link juice.

Yup, so the general idea is to circumvent the throttled linkjuice by doing even more submissions to these buffers without the worry of penalties and make up for the lost linkjuice?

If your site is aged you can build direct link to money site,If it is new then best and suitable is create web2.0 and pass link to money site and build link to web2.0,Thus sometimes web2.0 rank quickly will pass traffic indirectly to your site.Your site is also safe and increase in ranking naturally
because of tagging structures in web2.0 you get more links as well.

These pyramid structures are giving more strength than a link wheel.
