Hi all,

I've got a blog at: Web marketing, Blogging tips, Social media tips and SEO | AkosBlog.

I make 10-20$ from it per month. I get about 100 UV per day.

I realized that I could make 100-300$ if I could get visitors from search engines.
I only get about 5 visits from search engines per day []. All of the other traffic comes from Twitter, Facebook, forums and article marketing.

But what if I would get 85%+ of my traffic from SE s.
I would get about 1000 pageviews per day.

So here is my question: What am I doing wrong? What could I do to increase traffic from search engines?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Akos

    Hi Akos,

You just need to do some decent keyword research.

Once you have decided on a few great keywords with beatable competition and decent traffic it's time to learn about "onpage optimization" - This is basically about optimizing your pages for your keywords.

Download Traffic Travis (free) and check your URLs against your keywords and it will give you suggestions on what you need to do to achieve an A+ onpage SEO rating.

onpage SEO accounts for only (i like to say) 20% of SEO.

The next step is to backlink backlink backlink!

Create some high quality backlinks to your pages with your keywords in your anchor text.

There are a lot of ways to do this and it does get quite technical.

Alternatively you can outsource the SEO and this will free up your time to build more content, websites, etc.

    Hope this helps..

You site has PR 0, so at least that's a problem. You need more quality links to it !

This makes no sense. You do not need PR to rank.

It takes a little while to find keywords, but once you do simply build backlinks!

Also, in a competitive niche such as Social Media tips there should be huge potential for long tail traffic. Therefore, simply by creating a ton of content, you will see SE traffic grow.

Use longtail low competition keywords as titles in your blog.
Thus it rank easily so you get traffic naturally from search engines.Once you get returning visitors then you can use it and get more visitors by writing killer question type articles on your blog.

Before I mention SEO or keyword research, your site seems too general. You're internet marketing, blogging, social media and SEO all in one site. You should really start off small and cover only one topic.

Okay, if you want to pull in organic traffic, you'll need to conduct effective keyword research. Find out which keywords are both relevant and easy to rank for. You'll be able to find lots of long tail, low competition keywords as you cover so many niches.
