use twitter and facebook. but don't stop there, you have to have a good twitter marketing and be active on facebook. find people in your niche and interact.

You're going to have to be more specific - do you have a budget for this, or do you want to promote your site for free?

The generic answer to this question is SEO (search engine optimization). This entails optimizing your website's content for certain keywords and building backlinks (preferably high PR backlinks) to your site.

Try YouTube as well. I have been getting a ton of responses from YouTube. Do about 4-5 short 2-3 minutes videos and upload them and start doing friend requests.

I still laugh because I get about half of my traffic from Youtube (free) compared to my paid traffic sources. Try it out.

Well, to promote your website there are a lot of tolls you can use such as having and managing facebook and twitter account for your website promotion, submit multiple articles on web 2.0 article sites but register first, submit press release, blogs, create and use the created video to promote your website.
