I suppose keyword spy was one of the originals and therefore better - although I found this post from SEO Book:

KeywordSpy is a feature rich membership and they have a deep database. For me, if I had to pick just one tool I would opt for either SemRush or SpyFu as both supply solid PPC/SEO competitive intel at a much more reasonable price.

I'm just getting started so I like the fact you can purchase a 3 day subscription to Spyfu.

        Thanks,

As the matter of fact they are just launching ppcbully2.0, and the price is (was) for basic one $50/month.
            What about other 2?
Can some briefly explain why one is better, as me too I am going to maybe get that, as I thought I have way too much spare time.

If your whole online career depends on a spy tool then you're in trouble! People get hung up on spy tools like they will hand a successful campaign to them on a plate.

Why is it so important you get a spy tool? If you're on a budget, keep the money to pay for your clicks. Get a keyword list from the google keyword tool and look at the ads that consistantly appear over a given time. Then you'll have some idea of the ones that are working for other advertisers.

You are true naonline on this...but when you are using tools you can find long tail keyphrases which are the most essential part in PPC management..however getting idea to look at the ads that consistantly appear over a given time will only give common keywords...i mean if someone had made a product then it should be worthwhile ..right..
i have used spyfu,keywordspy..but spyfu was much better..

I've used them all. Right now I use Keyword Spy and PPC Kahuna. I like keyword spy for doing broad research and to give me keyword ideas, but I don't actually use it for spying. For my actual keyword spying I use PPC Kahuna which is like PPC Bully except it runs on my computer and not on anyones servers, so I feel more secure and I trust the data abit more. I'm just a geek like that...lol

Do you think the owner of free keyword tool spies on what you search? Hence easy picking of niche keyword for an exchange of free tool?

I have personally used and test many of the tools out there. Here are my suggestions for PPC marketers.

In order of my favorite to least favorite.
    1. iSpionage
    2. KeywordSpy
    3. SpyFu

Now ask me which one's I'm actively using...
    1. iSpionage

PPC Bully is an ok tool, but up until recently it wasn't at a price point just anyone could afford. However, at this point I'm not actively using it anymore.

I do not use any of what you have listed. I use an SEO tool that has saved me tons of time with my seo. It's WEB CEO. Plus I only pay $49.00 every 3 months for the subscription updates which they update on a daily basis.

It also comes with an SEO course if you get the business edition. This has been the best investment I have made in my business.

      Hope that helps.

Having to have turned off an insanely annoying Keyword Spy plugin I swore of keyword tools for a while. Then today, I really, really needed to use one for a client and... out of several that I tried, I went back to Keyword Spy! It delivered.

The free version of Keywordspy will get you started.

    Example, in this order:
    1. camping tent
    2. family camping tents
    3. Campmor.com
    4. columbia tents

columbia tents has a 385 ROI score.

Campor.com has been running that keyword since 07 Nov 2009, nobody runs a PPC keyword that long (3-years) unless it's a proven winner.

Campor.com is still running that PPC campaign as of this comment, columbia tents, ranked #1 in Google SERPs PPC.

I'm not sure whether this tool still kicks as much butt as it used to, but try "Affiliate Elite" by Brad Callen. Last time I've had that it was an awesome tool for tracking down which PPC campaigns were making the most money, what the ads looked like, how they're structured, etc. Worth a try.
