After 301 redirect, both website gone from top 10 to >200. Why?

Hi

I just did the 301 redirect from wordpress blog to a website about 1-2 weeks ago.

My wordpress blog originally rank top 10, but now both my wordpress blog and website rank over 200.

I wonder what's wrong with the redirection?

    did anything change?

    allot of times after redirection, it takes a few weeks to go back to your old ranking, sometimes a few months. but as long as there are not any drastic changes, you should see it start climbing back.

      i think 301 redirection is not illegal according to google 301 is good one.. dont know why its happening with you.. but try to check regularly .. it will be back soon

      mm... I actually created a new website with duplicate content first, then started building backlinks to it, but after 2/3 weeks the website still ranking over 300. So I decided to redirect my blog to a website.

      Now it's been 2 weeks since redirection. I should have started with a website rather than a wordpress blog... didn't expect so much trouble later on..

        Give it another week or so, i have 301 a page on my website and even though it had crawled the page (i know for a fact) Google didn't even register properly in the SERPS until about 3 weeks later.

    Well I just did one and seemed to drop down and couldn't work out of of 3 choices what it was exactly but I was suspicious. Hope it's not a few months.
