I just wanted to let everyone know something that happened to me today. I uploaded my free report called Email Submit Cash Machine to scribd this morning.

Just 4 hours later, I checked and I'm on page 1 of Google for 3 or 4 different keywords including "make money with email submits".

I often forget about using the doc sharing sites, but this is a good reminder to add that to my routine.

Thought someone else may benefit as well.

    Thanks.
I always forget about Scribd and they're so much more user friendly than Squidoo or hubpages.

I've only used them a couple of times, but I was really surprised it got indexed that fast and on page 1. If you type in the title of my report, it ranks #1 just ahead of my own site.

I'm going to do a lot more testing with this I think.

Damn! Dude you're letting out the secrets...

Jokes, but I was planning a full scale upload attack with tons of cool little mini reports to see what happens... I uploaded one because I downloaded a file, and it seems I was getting some decent hits for it too.

    Let us know your results.

    Best regards,

Are there still secrets? I've known about this for a long time but kind of forgot. Looks like about 10 million other people know "the secret" too.

      My thoughts exactly

      DocStoc is good too

My strategy is to simply take my articles that I have uploaded to my blog and other directories and just extend them so they are about a page and a half. Then use the last half of the second page to try to get them to my site. I often ad a cool banner along with the normal "resource box" type stuff.

After this I just export to PDF and Distribute away :-)

Publish Digital Magazines and More Online for Free | YUDU is a third one you can use as well.

I'll also take a few of these pdf articles and combine them into a 5 to 10 page ebook and submit it to a couple free ebook sites.

      Good Luck

Thanks Coby. Nothing really to worry about. Out of all the people that read this, maybe 1 will actually try it.

Doc sharing sites ROCK. I've been trying to find a programmer to make an app that will autosubmit to them, but so far, the prices I've been quoted are way too high. I sure hope someone creates one soon.

LOL.. I kind of intended to 'drop a hint' there. I think the reason doc sharing sites are so underutilized is because there are no automation apps for it, which makes it time consuming to execute as a strategy... I've got a 'system' for doing it, which is fairly efficient, but not nearly the speed of software.

Of course, after the malicious attack I just faced on my computer from an automation app, maybe I should just stick to my 'system.'

Hey Mike, not to change the subject on ya, but I thought Dani might find some of this information of finding a programmer useful. A couple of programmers posted in here so she might find one right in the thread. Here ya go Dani: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...rogrammer.html

Thanks Dana. I've actually put out several feelers, in the programmer section here on WF, and on a few lance sites, but have had little response at all, and the response I did have was too high priced. But I'll keep looking and thank you.

          -Dani

There seem to be a lot of sites like this with more and more of them starting up everyday. I think that the most effective way to use them is to spread your content around and add a few more links to each of these sites every week.

The problem is finding the time and being organized enough to do it.

Scribd often out performs EZA for me in terms of traffic. It only takes a minute or two to upload an article and as far as I am aware it's automatically accepted. It may be moderated or quality controlled in some way but I haven't noticed since - and I know what this sounds like - it's not something I worry about with my articles.

I did a little research on this after checking my links and finding they were not clickable either.

It looks like if you use a program that does a print to pdf then the links aren't done correctly. You need to use a program that will actually save as a pdf. I think Office 2007 will do this so I'll try it out tomorrow.

Mmm... I was hoping no one would highlight this too much too...

Will be interesting to see if there is more activity on doc sharing sites after ye olde Google Panda update... and if we see repercusions to the doc sharing sites in due course.

It looks like it took a solid hit (~50%) from the traffic chart at SEMRush, but is still growing in traffic steadily

I'm coding up a submission service at the moment, looking into automating the doc sites...

What I would do is use scribd for a presell page and rank the scribd article itself for a buying keyword.

I've actually been testing this out a little more and I'm seeing some fantastic results. I really screwed up by not making my links clickable so need to remember to do that next time. I'm not seeing as much benefit from the other doc sites though.

Can you explain how you made your links clickable? I saw you said that they needed to be in PDF and I'll give that a try, but is that what you did?

I keep meaning to do this, it would be nice to see a little SEO benefit from backlinks gained in this way, rather than the content outranking my own site for the same keywords.

In another thread there was talk that Docstoc had put the stoppers on active links, anyone confirm or deny that?

Automating this (and maintaining the software after) would be a bit of a job because AFAIK these sites are all using custom scripts, each with a different front-end for the bot to deal with. It's not like Article Marketing Robot where they are all using one of 5 or 6 article directory scripts, which can be automated a lot more easily. Are there really so many of these doc sharing sites, anyway?

I create the article on a word document and add the backlink on the word document. Then I go to doc2pdf.net and turn the word document into a PDF. You should then have a clickable link inside the PDF.

I've had scribd rank in the top 10 of Google in less than an hour for my targeted keyword many times. The rankings usually don't stick around too long, but by building some backlinks to it, you may be able to get the rankings to stick.

I use Office Word, so the key is to save as pdf. Many people, myself included have a pdf printer driver installed because Word didn't use to have this funtionality. When you use the printer driver, the links don't always show up as links when you upload to the doc directories.

does anyone know if links contained in the documents count as backlinks? or is scribd mostly good for directly marketing to potential buyers?
