Alexa Rank Under 1,000,000 - Big Deal or No?

I just noticed that our site has an Alexa rank under 1,000,000 for the first time. Is that meaningful? OR is it one of those: "that and a $1.00 will get you a cup of coffee" things?

Thanks.

I don't think its anything to sneeze at. Alexa is very unreliable. I have tiny sites with maybe 20 daily visitors having a better alexa rank than my large 3,000+ daily unique visotr website. It should be the other way around.

At least you're trending in the right direction. I'm not an Alexa expert
although I'm pretty familiar with things.

I think the generally accepted (loosely?) standard is 100,000 and below
rank and your coffee is free.

When you are less than 1,000 Alexa rank - then you're stud-like and women
will stop you on the street and talk to you.

The Alexa metric changes daily. It depends on traffic and activity. I can build a website and even if I'm the only person working on it will start at 28,000,000 and down to 1,500,000 before starting to advertise it. Alexa rank is a figure of how you rank in the world. Look at CB websites. When they launch, if they have a few JV partners, is no un-common to reach the rank of 2,000. Check that same site 2 years down the road and it's above 2,000,000.

A below 1,000,000 rank means you're probably getting a few hits per month, below 100,000 now we're starting to talk business

Alexa isn't really about traffic. 10 alexa hits with 6+ page visits outweighs 100 visits that are bounces. It is a mixture of unique visitors and page views
