Commenting vs Bookmarking

There are a lot of discussions here about BookMarking especially tools like BookMarking Demon, socialmarker, sicksubmitter, Xrumer, onlywire.com etc.

Good old commenting on blogs and videos etc. seems to have taken a back seat. In my view, half an hour of commenting (which is free) may provide just as much juice as running a $150 software tool.

However; I don't have any empirical data to back it up.

What about you? Have you done any research to compare results.

    Blog Commenting has no comparison with Bookmarking. Bookmarking link can immediately have No Pagerank and its a new link. So a new link cannot be compared with link which has authority and may have some pagerank.

    Sometimes you might be lucky enough to find a couple nuggets but it isn't likely. With blog commenting, the "High PR" blogs are usually saturated with links, so adding one is absolutely 100% worthless, no link juice. If you find some good blogs, yeah it can be great... but don't underestimate the power of social bookmarking. Just do about 50 blog comments on your own, don't worry about page rank or anything... and then on another site, try 5 social bookmarks on each of the following sites; Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.i.cious, reddit.

    I will rather choose blog commenting, a good source of quality backlink and really for the ranking of the site at the same time helps in getting traffic.

    They are both very different and essential. But in the overall scheme of things blog commenting has more weight.

    I still value blog commenting highly. My only problem is I took the low road with one of my sh*t sites and spammed blogs with scrapebox just to test out the software and really get a feel for it...got my ip banned by akismet. Woops. Before that i loved commenting manually on really good posts with high pr. It helped a lot, and also works well for your web 2.0 and articles. Bookmarking is great for getting things indexed, but you need a lot of links for them to help you much. But links can't hurt, so do both!

      Why didn't you use proxies? If you can't afford them, you can download plenty for free. They aren't as reliable as paid proxies, but they will work. That is what I am using now.

    i go bookmarking, with the of onlywire having more than one account you can bookmark 42 site at once, multiply with the number of account you have. also you get index very fast with bookmarking

    Personally, I don't use software. It will only hurt your site. Although I can afford to buy buy I still prefer to do links manually.

    I don't recommend to comment in the blogs a lot, because of few things:

    1. Most of the time they are spammed
    2. Stupid spammers put 10 or even more backlinks in one post
    3. If it is not spammed yet wait because it will be

    I create forum profiles and I think it is one of easiest and fastest methods.

      Yes, it's pretty hard to find blogs that are auto-approve and not spammed to death.

      You can avoid blogs that are spammed by finding ones that must manually approve comments. This keeps the spammers away. Most blog owners are fine with you creating a backlink as long as your comment is on-topic and beneficial to the post. A little extra work? Sure. But it's usually worth it in the long run.

    Both of them are useful but usually bookmarking works faster because most comments are approving with delay but bookmarking works instantly.

    both of them have diffrent value sometime blog commenting is good as those links coming from pr page or old page but in some cases bookmarking is good if done on major bookmarking sites like digg, reditt

    Both bookmarking and blog commenting are good for traffic and backlinks. Its better with social bookmarking than blog commenting because the owner of the blog can report you and you will be penalized.

    That depends on your need, if you want to index your site fastly prefer book marks (digg, delicius etc), looking for long term result(result you will get in max 3 months) for forums and Blogs. So choose your self.
