I have been receiving numerous "pingback requests from a site asking to add something I created to their site. I am assuming this is a good thing as it gets yourself further exposure and all builds backlinks.
I do have 2 areas for concern:
1. Is this considered duplicate content?
2. If someones asks to have a write up I did on my site and I accept, I am left with a "pingack" comment in the comment section of that page. I don't want pingbacks in my comments. My comments are for actual interaction.

I would love to know the answer to that too.

    • Yea, and also my understanding of this is that you are then creating reciprocal links between the two sites which from what I have heard Google doesn't really value. I prefer to ignore pingbacks but would be interested to hear some other opinions on this.

Sometimes I accept them, sometimes I don't..I've never really seen any difference in rankings attributable to either...*shrugs* unless someone knows something I don't?
